Was I in the wrong?

He never said people were rolling. He said he asked if he could have, no one answered, he took it, people got pissed.

[I]So he passed leadership onto me to I could loot. Now before everyone rolled I asked the group if I could take one of the Arkanian pieces for my two set. But no one responded so I naturally thought it was ok to take one of them for myself. However, when i did this I got yelled at and was told i'm a ninja and a ******e and all this other stuff. Now understand I did not take the boots and quit the group. After everyone yelled at me I apologized and got everyone roll again and I gave the boots to someone else.

Note: I am not posting this to complain or to get attention it was just something that happened and I wish to get opinions.

Now let me just start off by saying that this game and this forum have given me a harder skin and what happened to me did not really upset me but rather surprised me.

So today I was on my tank sin and I saw in general a 16man SM TFB was being formed. So I did not have anything to do so I volunteered. Now the rest of the team took forever to form and it was me as one tank and a Jugg. Now this Jugg did not know the fights at all and kept whispering me on what to do which I did not mind but this post is not about that. After just barely sc****** through the horror we made our way to the Dreadguards and even though I explained the strats as best I could I still had to explain to the other tank when to taunt etc.

So eventually we kill them and we make our way to the Operator. Now most people had not done this before so more explaining but we managed to kill the cores and I picked up the boss. The other poor tank could not keep threat so i basically solo tanked it. But it was what happened after the kill that really got things weird. So this Jugg was the raid leader and for some reason he could see the corpse of the boss to loot. So he passed leadership onto me to I could loot. Now I am sure your wondering why I even bothered to post. It is really because I wish to know was I wrong for assuming and if the majority consensus is that I was then well yes I was wrong but on the other hand was it right for them to get so upset and call me names just for an assumption?

Any thoughts is welcome and flames I don't mind. Just tell me honestly. PS sorry for the long post.

Even though you asked and didn't get a response, why did you think everyone in a 16m raid would just let you have a pair of Arkanian boots? Especially since you said most of the people had never been there before and obviously needed them.

well..first

were you the ONLY one that could use that arkanian piece? if not then...you're in a 16 man group. typically I'm of the mind "there's no harm in asking" but..on some cases. there kinda is. If you weren't the ONLY one that could use it. Then your asking was a bit...odd. Why should you get the sole piece? roll like anyone else....not to mention with how "orange" armor is in the game...it's the mods..not the shell.

Second. Yah, never assume no answer is an "ok" to do something.

In the end did they over-react? probably. But you shouldn't have assumed it was ok just because no one answered. as said..there's the possibility the people that might care didn't see you ask for whatever reason. Two. unless you're the ONLY person that can use an item (and with mods even then it's iffy) then you really have no right to ask for it directly. Roll like everyone else.

or they simply couldn't be bothered to respond.
