Need Official answer: Tauntaun quest, Griefing vs PVP

um what do you call the raids on the CAPITAL CITIES? Those happen on both PvE and PvP servers? There are rewards tied to this. Tell me how the hell that is not encouraging greifing?

Last I saw, there were achievements for holding other big quest areas aswell. Crossroads anyone?

The thing is it can be frustrating to not get the tauntaun, so some people let that frustration out on others who are successful. I see that as a fully legit reason to start a fight on a PvP server, after all it is a PvP server and the way it is implenented in the game alows that, that means it is okay to do it. What is not okay, is to hack the game, and I think it is very immature of you to through both behaviours into the same pot.

I challenge you to show me a single instance of anyone at Blizzard EVER considering something like this griefing on a PvP server.

Oh right, you can't. Because it hasn't ever happened. And someone as immature as you, doubtful you played in the closed beta.

You can go and choose any of the posts on the WOW forums where posters, like you, are crying about PVP happening on a PVP server and then get no response from blizzard and similar responses that you are getting here from players.

You sir, are on a PVP server. PVP at any time comes with that package.

You may dislike your choice now so you have the option to server transfer if you like but PVP is going to happen when you are ready and when you are not. It's going to happen and convenient and inconvenient times.

Time for you to suck it up. You choose that play style.

I would argue that these players are expert RPers - they are acting like "spies" for their respective faction. Only when a person receives new data, does that person become a 'threat'. When a threat is identified, they eliminate him to prevent the data from being collected.

You bring up an interesting point...would be cool if we could kill the opposing faction and loot their body of their newly acquired data from the nest.

Would solve all this griefing business at least!!

Maybe don't let them stand there and stare at you until then? Go kick their "big red behind" and be done with it.

I mean after all; it is a PvP server.

It's really no different from gathering Netherdrake eggs on WoW (or some other MMO that has you gathering items for a mount) and getting ganked before you can get the item.

In which case I hate to say it but... you chose for this.
It hasn't been a problem up until now because there were no special "quests" like this before.
For what it's worth, yes - I would considering it "griefing", but the kind that is within acceptable boundaries for a PvP server, where half the population's idea of fun will be to ruin someone else's day.
