But please people, just get this through your thick skulls, just because this game has f2p options, doesn't mean the game is f2p now. It still clearly supports subs and as such, you can never expect to get the same options as subbed people. That's about as simple as adding 1+1 .....

I noticed, "SWTOR going F2P!" And I was like wow! really awesome! maybe now this game will have fixed all its problems added some new stuff and I can get back into it.

Ahaha no....I re install get on my smuggler (whos in full purple raid gear) and I noticed...where are my quick bars? why cant I hide my helmet? Why do I only have 4 character slots? what? I can only do a few warzone but I love PvP? I was just shocked keep in mind I spent over 180 dollars on this game prior. So this was a huge slap in the face to me a loyal customer who followed this game since 2009 and I cant even enjoy the game anymore. Even though it has that big Free To Play! sticker on it. Keep in mind I asked around in chat (the limited chat i could even say) And people had the nerve to tell me "you should be glad your even able to play this game in the first place" Once I told them that ive payed for this game a long with months of subbing (founder title) they shut the heck up.

So in all Why would Bioware/EA think its okay to do this to people who bought the game fair and square. I mean GW2, Tera, Rift, Never-winter, Aion, and many others don't do this. Ive loved Star-Wars since I was 5 years old which is why i put it above the others. I mean there isn't even atleast some cool thing they give to members who bought the game when it launched? Like "Alright since you bought our game which was 85 for the deluxe you can alteast have all your quickbars." Anyways rant over. Its late and i'm very tired so mind the grammar, but this is my fuss on SWTOR free to try model. Good Night.

Also (I pray every day that they will see the light and remove these restrictions to free to play members and make the cartel shop worth spending money on so that it gives and incentive for f2p players to buy from it, not just limit them till they just quit. But aleast keep some limits there like exp and small small things. But remove ALL limits for ppl who bought the game! ) and plz remove when you take out a dye it destroys I mean really? just let us take it out like a normal mod!
^100% true

We who actually support the game at launch by buying the actual game are treated as someone who paid 5$ on the cartel market.

+1 for BioEAware's love for its players.

Actually you, that you did buy the game at launch was getting a subscription for the game included and you actually did get what you paid for. The guy who spends 5$ now is also getting what they paid for, which is LESS than what you did get back then.
If you stop your subscription, you fall back on still getting the same as the guy who paid only 5$ got, but that is once more comparing apples and oranges.

If you buy a computer and use it for a year and then go to the store and see the same model for half the price and someone buys it, do you then wreak havoc in store too and complain that they get the same for less money?

You were paying for a service and you got that service, plain and simple. You are still paying for a service, and you are still getting that service... once you stop paying, you stop getting the service... and that is what you call pay to win?

But what you really want is "I did pay sometime in the past, no matter for how long, and I do not care for your running costs, I feel I should be treated like the emperor and still get everything, even though I am no longer paying you."

No, Free to Play is bait, it tempts you into subbing, the cartel market on the other hands is almost entirely decoration, which is why people enjoy it.

I like the whole "why should i pay to play a game" attitude that has showed itself here...

Why should you pay for anything at all?
You could easily pirate every movie and tv-show you want to watch off the neighbors wi-fi. You could easily do the same with all games.
You could steal all your food and petrol for the car you took from some old lady the other day.
You could tell the owners of the house you are currently squatting in to go stuff themselves too.

But is it really right to do all that?

When it all boils down to it... why do you deserve to get things free when others are paying for it?

Subscription does need to have a benefit over F2P players and to be honest, this "I want all of it and not pay a thing" attitude is getting rediculous. How many of those, who want F2P without restrictions are offering their workforce for free and tell their customers: "Pay, if you feel like it or if you want a little fancy goody, but the whole package is free".
Do you go to your car broker and ask for a car to be completely free, if you agree for it to not have air conditioning? Do you go shoppng and expect all clothes that are not of top class designers to be free for all? Do you expect a movie to be free and popcorn be optional and the theatres only way to actually get their bills paid?

Why in the heck do you then expect a multi-million dollar product to be fully available for free with no restrictions?
Yes yes, because a running theme in my posts is "i want to own the company of EA for free" .

Then you give a couple of examples of business struggling if they suddenly gave away products for free, yadda yadda, my my your such an amazing businessman. But yet you forget to mention the biggest pc-multiplayer market (LoL) is free...hmm wonder why that is..oh well.

Here's the difference: I'd expect a car broker to give me a car for free, if the car broker down the street is giving away high-end porches for free. It's basic business 101, keep up with your competitor unless you have something else to offer. Only thing swtor has? Really just the star wars skin. Just because you enjoy EA stealing money from your wallet doesn't mean i have to.

Sorry, I cannot take you serious, if you indeed see League of Legends as an MMO. There is no story, there are no missions, there is no voice over, there are no companions, no design choices to be made...

It is a good game, I do not challenge that, but it is nowhere even close to an MMO. It is an instanced multiplayer game, where no more than 8(?) players compete with each other at any given time.

That is like if you'd reduce SWTOR to the warzones.

And back when I last tested LoL, many of the chars needed to be unlocked with money.. did that change? If it did not change, then how is it "the whole game for free" ?

I would see your car example directly vice versa... If the broker down the road is giving Porsche vor free, then that old used Fiat broker would need to give theirs away for free too, but only cause Fiat is offering a few of their cars for free, Porsche wouldn't do that too...

In 2 weeks i will know how it feels to be a preffered player. Will be a interesting experience but it is unlikely that i will have big problems. My current playstyle is very casual like.

I am always wondering why they are not giving a weeksend or 7 days of free subscription time to f2p players. They do that in all the browser games and when u used it once and experienced how comfortable it is to be a sub (or premium user or what it's called in other games) you most likely will buy subscription. For that they should maybe add a few more QoL features to the sub but all in all this is something that worked very well in games with a f2p and subscription model.
