It's by far the best tool/site out there for the more dedicated PvEers imo. A lot of great tools to help players maximize their play.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

helpful flashpoint/raiding tool that would run with your combat logging while the game's open to give you an overlay window simulating a DPS mod, it required windowed mode, but gave great feedback while you were playing on both healing and damage dealt. Also remembered what class you were on when, and uploaded everything to the site so you could compare numbers from day to day or week to week, and see how your performance matches up to other regular contributors, and you could search for people or guilds to compare data. Gave good target numbers for unusual encounters as well.

Just like many of you, I personally think TORParse is a great tool and I will be sad to see it go. One thing I have learned though from being on a fan site, and from being here at BioWare, is that when one site goes down, usually there are others ready to take their place.

you have other options. for example, instead of "top secret" development support, you could openly develop it. have some sort of "eric musco" blog attached so it's incredibly obvious bioware staff took over development of the project. it would be best if you could do that as a side project, completely unaffiliated with bioware or EA so you don't have external pressure, but still be allowed to work on it during regular business hours. there are issues there, but just don't tell HR or the lawyers. they'll never know. even though you would be clearly labeled as part of the project so nobody could call shenanigans.

or just have bioware buy the program and include it as part of the game.

or have bioware staff develop their own independent real-time group information thing that does the same thing.

i'm pretty sure eric can't read this because he has me ignored, but i'm not positive.

This.

I am a .net developer and when I saw TorParse was shutting down I immediately began development of a replacement. In under a week I have a working parser engine and the guts a of a client parser written. The plan is to take the good features of mox and torparse and combine them.

The biggest challenge I foresee is finding a cost neutral way to host the large amounts of data needed to store logs and statistics. If anyone has any ideas on this issue please PM me!

Maybe they don't care because they know it's not worth putting in any time or effort for a tool hardly anyone uses. It's a tool for obsessive min-maxers, a rather small niche within the player base.

I absolutely 100% guarantee that employees do not ignore anyone.

If it's so important to you, you do it.

I get it. I don't use it, but I get it. While it can offer insight into who's doing what...so can just paying attention. Endgame communities are what have made parsers overly important, not content. I have played MMO's for many years, yet have never played a game that had one incorporated. Even with how WoW sucked up the "good idea addons" they never touched a parser.

People put too much importance into them.
It's just a game, not real life

Isn't MOX still around?
I mean if a parser is so important for a guild, can't you use that?

Convert it to a WoW service and sell it to curse. Then go back and use those profits to fund the SWTOR version, if you haven't given up on the game by that point because of the lack of support
