BioWare, you're TORParse's only hope...

Its good that you care, but i find torparse is not very good. My parses never seem to work properly in it.

All this could be solved with some sort of in-game or out of game app to interpret our own logs.

Source for page visit statistics? Sorry they are shutting down your favorite site, but I would rather see BW invest its resources more wisely on the game, and not on some website.

approximate 623,747 people have visited the website and combined have spent 106,557 hours browsing (a little over 12 years). Since the ingame client's launch (22 April 2013), the ingame client has serviced over 20,000 unique users with an average of 1,000 being connected at any given time.

I know. I guess I wasn't clear, but I'd like BW to step in and prevent the site from going offline. It's in their best interest that it stays online and available since so many TOR players frequent it throughout the day

I will consider only serious offers to transition the project to another development team. I would love to see this project last beyond just my own involvement. Now.. how this usually goes... (let's take WoW addons as an example) ... the person maintaining the app (if they so choose and someone else is willing) hands it off to some other person (or entity, such as SourceForge) to maintain moving forward.

Yes, but he won't make it open source, and the way he wrote the final statement, doesn't give much hope for TORparse.

I'm begging you, please don't let TORParse.com die. It is perhaps the greatest fan site of all based on the usage numbers. More importantly, the segment of the community that uses the site are some of the TOR's biggest fans and supporters. I can't begin to stress just how much value the site has added to my game experience. Losing it will be devastating.

Even if there's nothing official that BW can do to assist, perhaps a Dev or two would be willing to lend their support,i f not publicly, then behind the scenes to keep it afloat. The client app is fantastic and the site very, very well done. The creator and operator, James, has done a magnificent job with it and it would be a shame if his work was lost. Apps like TorParse keep people coming back. They help one track progress in a meaningful way and the ability to compare your results against the community drives people to play and makes the journey more enjoyable.

Operating costs should not keep people from stepping forward to take over. I, and many others, would happily support the site financially if given the opportunity.

As someone who got his start on a fan site himself many years ago, I really appreciate what you are trying to do! Unfortunately, "taking over" a fan site or offering top secret development support/time to a fan site is just not something we do.

Just like many of you, I personally think TORParse is a great tool and I will be sad to see it go. One thing I have learned though from being on a fan site, and from being here at BioWare, is that when one site goes down, usually there are others ready to take their place.
