Bolstered and Boundless Duels

Not everyone is level 50; or 55 for that matter. But in warzones, I think the buff is called bolstered, which boosts everything about everyone to level 55. Meaning a level 20 actually stands a fighting chance against a level 55. But in all other cases, you can't accept duel requests unless you inspect the other player and make sure that they're close enough to your level ... or if you're just feeling suicidal.

So, as you right click a person, Request Duel turns into an expanding menu that now offers the options of Unmatched Duel and Bolstered Duel. Unmatched is supposed to mean both parties duel as-is; no adjustments offered. Bolstered Duel simply applies the Bolstered buff to both parties during the duration of the duel. This way, duels can happen more often between players enjoyably.

Oh, another idea: a Boundless Duel. Quite simply, there is no dueling ring. If characters want to play some sort of non-lethal hunter/hunted dueling game, then leaving the dueling radius won't end the duel; since there is no radius anymore.

Different duel options proposedly to add to a dueling drop-down menu. Should definitely make dueling more sought after in this game.

Or, better yet, the dueling menu comes with the options of Quick Duel and Advanced Duel.

Quick Duel works like dueling has in this game up to now. Instant start with no special rules.

Advanced Duel opens up a popup window where you can set and agree on special rules. Such as bolstering and/or boundlessness. Or endlessness or invite multiple figures into a 3-on-1 (for example) unbolstered, or even some sort of 10-man last-one-standing duel.

I simply think that the dueling system can use some spicing up.

6 months later, the dueling system can still using some spicing up. After all, not everyone is level 55.

Bolstered duels are what I would push for the most. If a guild, for example, likes to hold a dueling tournament, it's obvious the highest level is going to win; no skill involved. Even if the guild splits up contestants into tiers, the level 29 is going to win against the level 11. With a Bolstered Duel, at least it won't be a one-hit kill. The lower level can actually fight back, even though he won't have as much moves as his high-level opponent.

I am confident a change like this will make people more comfortable with the dueling feature. Keep in mind, I'm not saying replace normal duels, I'm saying put in the option. Put some control in the player's hands; advanced duels.
