I encourage you to post your own replies to things you disagree with. I love honest opinions and I'd value yours on any topic. Believe it or not, there are quite a few very open minded people on these forums You might be surprised!
I have to say TUX that I really enjoy your responses to things you feel passionate about whether it is a critique of the game or anything else your always honest and that is a good thing.

Now in my opinion that thread you were referring to was over the top and vulgar agreed but I must admit that their are people on this forum who make me so mad i'd love to climb through the screen and slap them. I just think that forums of any kind illicit emotional responses from people regardless of what the subject matter is. So yeah to me this game forum is no different than other forums I am part of.

So all this over the 500 CC free gift to subbs ? Just because lower than 5% of subbs complained about a patch. this whole thing is really getting on my nerves. It was a gift , it was free and TBH I really wished they hadn't given it now.

Free gift , as someone else pointed out , you say thank you and move on.

Cheers,

BadOrb.
Just to make it clear, free, yes, gift, no.

If you allow certain posters to make you that angry, wouldn't it be a good idea to put them on ignore?

I have put people on ignore however I still believe that even i personally don't like what the person is saying. Someone in the thread will and therefore it still has merit to be read even if makes rage inside sometimes.

i don't think anyone is going to take the OP very serious. that is why most posts in a thread like this are going to be off topic. it's not really a legitimate comment to begin with.

there is a point for posters when they've pretty much said everything there is to say, and most people who regularly read the forums already know their opinion on a given topic. there is a point for a given topic when there are enough threads and it has been discussed in the community enough. superman has posted with enough frequency, and this topic has been discussed often enough, that most people are not going to take it serious anymore. there isn't anything left to add, and superman isn't contributing anything new, so the thread turns into what this thread has turned into.

to be fair, this isn't specific to superman. i believe if i started a new thread that was somehow related to this topic, it would be the exact same thing. nobody is adding anything new, so people just troll and such. if you really want to discuss the subscriber gift, there are plenty of other forums for that.

Key being "without payment in return." We had to be subscribers to get it, which, if I'm not mistaken, costs money. IOW, we had to do something to get it. If you have to do something for it, it's not a gift. "We'll give you this free gift if you like us on facepuke." Free, yes, gift, no.

You aren't paying for the gift itself. You are paying for access to the game. Anything outside of the normal ToS "can" be considered a gift.

The 500cc was a gift, as no additional payment or effort was required.

Well by your logic anything given in SWTOR , pet or otherwise isn't a gift as it is a virtual item , virtual coins all 500 of them aren't a gift but free. Like when you give someone money for their b'day , it's money so isn't a gift ?

Did you mean you had to be a subb to get the free 500 coins ? Well that was the whole point , boo hoo the patch was a cartel market only patch , we subbs don't get appreciated , have 500 coins for free. How lazy of you BioWare i want something else. This is pointless really but there you go.

Cheers,

BadOrb.

We had to meet a condition to receive the "gift." Gifts do not come with conditions or prerequisites. They are given unconditionally. That's what makes them gifts.
