MMOs, on average, have 5-8% of players logged into the servers farms at any given time.

I'll leave the rest to you as a math exercise.

How many sources of your wrongness do you want?

Oh, I have.

I think every MMO I have ever played has had threads on their forums (Wow, GW, TSW, LOTRO, MH) stating how their game is dying, the population is fleeing etc... It's a bit odd that their are such posters on this forum, given as (correct me if I am wrong) only subscriber can post topics and stuff. Either way, there always seems to be players who want their game to die, or at least prove that it is terminally ill and will certainly die very soon, no matter what steps are taken. I think sometimes its more to do their own personal angst against the game. They hate it or an aspect of it, and so it shouldn't exists for others who may just enjoy it. Of course that just a theory, but I cant see why some players would state that a game is dying when there is either little or no conclusive evidence that such a fall is happening or going to happen any time soon. Perhaps some people are just very pessimistic?

The reason, I think, for all these "game is dying" threads is because people are insecure and want advanced notice to jump ship with everyone else so as not to go down with it. It really has nothing to do with the game at all, nor the enjoyment they may/may not be having with it but the fact that they're deathly afraid of being the uncool lonely kid who's playing a game that nobody else is.

Did you miss the first sentence?

Extra content and free-to-play contributed $185 million, up 50% led by FIFA and Madden Ultimate Team and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
If you have some data to back that up, let's see it.

Quote from you sources:
Since Star Wars: The Old Republic adopted a free-to-play business model in November, over 2 million new accounts have been created and thousands of new players join every day.

So...Thank you. Since the initial announcement six months ago when they said that 1.7 million F2P accounts had been created, there have only been 300k new F2P accounts created. So lets us review. 2 Million F2P accounts have been created since Nov 2012...Not that there are 2 million players. I was wrong how?

perhaps it's a bit of exaggeration in hopes of encouraging the development to go in a direction that helps their game instead of just hurting it? just being honest about the current state of things doesn't seem like somethign the OP or Bioware is interested in. granted if there has been a steady rise of income, subscriptions, and new accounts, as been suggested here, then the developers are probably quite happy with the current direction of their game. i would question the sources of that information. only bioware knows what their analytics reveal, and if those numbers are bad, they will try to spin them or only report positive data or just stay quiet.

On a factual note: On May 7, 2013, Electronic Arts reported their Q4-2013 earnings.
i will not, and my previous post included a link to the actual report that was released may 7, rather than just stating the date.
