I like this idea for a couple reasons.

First, there are just way too many mobs clogging up the pathways on Makeb. I don't mind a certain amount of that, in fact I prefer it to some of the other worlds that have nothing that ever gets in your way if you're on the solid line path, but Makeb has just gone too far in that direction. Speeding past on your vehicle will only get you so far because once you've got four or five groups on your tail, you're going to get knocked off. Removing something like a third of the mobs there, maybe even only a quarter, would definitely clear up a lot of the congestion without reducing Makeb to the clear sailing at all times of other worlds.

Secondly, and this is a big one that I think a lot of people have overlooked, is that a huge portion of the game's population have computer performance issues on Makeb. Whether it's an HP POS from off the shelf at the local BestBuy or a high end, custom built rig, low FPS and lag on Makeb are a problem for a lot of players. Given how heavily populated with NPCs that Makeb is, you have to wonder if taking a chunk of that population away might help with many players' performance issues.

as far as respawning mobs go that's just the nature of a open environment game, it would be much worse if it was all instanced like GW 1 [though vanquishing a whole area was somewhat satisfying]

for everyone who does not like the density of trash mobs on makeb / sec x. please test on the test server and let them know, don't just make pointless hate rants in the general forum

if you are unhappy with this design for makeb you are going to be very unhappy with the new CZ-198 dailies. but right now is the time to let them know instead of just complaining in 5 posts a day once its live
Just go riding right by me on the crest of the new wave

They did this with Section X.

Anyway I think overall its not that bad in SWTOR. Try Neverwinter, fast respawn times, massive agro range and almost no where to run. That game was just silly how many extra mobs I had to kill just to turn in a finished quests .

At 55 Makeb is pretty easy to navigate. Play around with it, you will find shortcuts and ways to get around most everything. Though keep in mind it is sometimes quicker to just kill things that speeder parkour around mesas

BioWare does not care whats reported from the PTS, see bolster and many other issues. They release it as it is.

Thinning the herd as it were, would definitely improve performance. Considering when you zone into an area your computer begins to calculate everything going on in the region. The less to calculate, the better your performance should be, note should be, not going to say it would, but it should help
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

Right...like that would do any good huh?! Do you realize the bugs/issues reported on PTS that are ignored from PTS?! You're better off reporting it after it's live imo. PTS is meant to give you a preview, not to solicit any true feedback. Once it's on the PTS, it's going to be in the game.

LotRO thinned out the monsters in Moria after it had been out for a year or so, so perhaps BWEA will do the same eventually on Makeb.

Not enough players test the patches on the PTS and those that do seldom provide feedback. I am not completely sure why this is, but SWTOR as a community has a really low interest in testing content unfortunately.

Personally, I have zero interest in being unpaid QA.
