Things are that expensive for many reasons and I think they are at reasonably fair prices. Not ridiculous at all. A ridiculous price is selling a tier 30 mod for 5,000,000 credits. But selling a speeder that's no longer available in the game for 15,000,000 credits? I don't see an issue with that.

Reasons might include (but aren't limited to):
-Expensive materials cost. Mass Manipulation Generators are, on average, 450k. That's only ONE mat out of the rest. Only an idiot would sell their crafted items for less than the cost of the mats used to make the item... even if the crafter didn't actually buy the mats. (You would be better off selling your materials instead of using them to craft your item.)

-Item rarity. Items that are rare or hard to get have high market value. If you don't want to pay the expensive price, then you go out and find it yourself. When you come back a week later after having failed to obtain your item, you will understand why it's so expensive.

-Content pacing. If all high end tier mods were so cheap that anyone could afford them after a daily or two, then there would be no point in running end game content and all of the content that is out now would get old and obsolete exponentially faster than it does already. People would quit the game due to boredom.

It's not others' responsibility to ensure you enjoy your game.

I have the strong feeling they did it, because it's fun for them to ruin things for others...not because it's clever, that's just how they get their jollies.
Right, undercutting GTN prices is tantamount to harassment.

If you say so.

No, the hardcore GTN players buy your stuff and re-list it. And they have enough money to do that longer than you. But if it helps you sleep at night to think you're throwing a wrench in their plans, sure.

If it's worth 5 mil, it'll sell for 5 mil. If it's not, it will expire and the seller will re-list at a lower price. Eventually, it will sell. Maybe at 4 mil, maybe at 500k, maybe at 50k, but it's not up to you to decide what is or is not a "ridiculous" price, it's up to the server's player base as a whole.

Given that this is just a game, so in the grand scheme of things your idea would just be an inconvenience, but that kind of thinking is exactly the backwards type of thing that only serves to make matters worse in the real world.

There are natural ebbs and flows to markets and trying to artificially manipulate it from he top like that screws it up more. Much like what our fed is doing right now with interest rates for example.

People are getting mighty annoyed about little things :

A) If a person sells something cheapers than you and someone else buys it, this is known as supply and demand.

B) If a person sells something so cheaply that they make little or no profit, this is known as bad business, and the person eventually stops selling because they are either loosing money or just not earning enough to make it Viable.

C) If someone sells things with too big a margin, then someone else does A).

These rules are true in real life and the game, if you find these economic rules unpalatable, then tough.

Through strength, I may gain power. Through power, I may gain victory.

For every chain broken, new chains bind me. Only the Force can set me free.

The difference is that what someone does in game does not necessarily correlate to what they "believe" or do in real life. Hence my prior statement - many people understand the difference between real life and a game and therefore can (and very often do - just look at the Internet in general) act differently in a virtual space that has no viable impact on the real world around them.

Nah, we buy your stuff up and double our money within 3 days. Or sometimes we just vendor it because you posted it 20% below vendor sale value. THANK YOU!

Ok, first of all, just because something is in the gtn for xxxxxx credits, doesn't mean it sells. I sell the items I craft for the same price each time. I use this price based on the success of what it sold for the first few tries. I started off at the "gtn price." My items wouldn't sell. So, I sold for just a little less. Still didn't sell. I slowly lowered my items until I got a steady rate of purchase. I was making good money, and I didn't have to keep reposting the items. I feel I have reached the equilibrium of supply and demand for my items. If this is lower than what you sell for, I'm sorry.

GTNing stuff for less than vendor value (except in the cases of those things that have a listed vendor value but can't be vendored) is one of life's bigger mysteries.
