I can't believe this thread is real and people are actually defending wow's graphics. As for swtor , this isn't 2004 anymore, get a new cpu and gpu , i play wow too, but what's wrong with you guys

Blizzard's gear art team is about a millennium ahead of BW's. The end-game gear in this game is ATROCIOUS. I've worked my butt off in operations for the privilege of pulling mods out of some of the ugliest pixels I've ever seen, only to put it into gear that comes from the cash shop.

Great job, EA. Way to take the pride out of accomplishment in an MMO. Make BW hire a five year old with crayons to draw your end-game gear, so players are forced into buying the pretty stuff with real money.

Who cares how real it looks if you constantly get distracted by random fps drops?

It isn't that bad, I still find some of the areas in wow to be pretty awesome looking.

Are some really awesome looking areas.

Graphics are severely outdated though and the game takes nothing to run. This argument is pretty invalid. I just wanted to state that the game isn't ugly by any means. It still has some really beautiful areas that can beat out certain places in this game for sure. Most people have to turn of shadows and bloom which give this game it's really awesome look. I am one of them as both really hurt my fps currently and I'm on a decent rig. If I can't play the game with all it has to offer then it doesn't really bring that same WOW (pun intended) factor to it visually.

Funny you're mentioning realism because the devs clearly stated they went for stylised graphics instead of realistic ones with SWTOR. Again, both realism and superior looks are not of much worth in an MMO.
The prodigal son has returned ... some people are stuck with SWTOR, for better or worse.

Build a new computer then? I don't have these issues.

You're right, then, we'll compare characters that are not fully geared. How's this for a comparison?

I don't know about you but I feel much more attached to a character with his own class-specific story and dazzling character visuals with cutscenes rather than a pixelated neanderthal following a generic text-based story.

Believe me, I love WoW for a lot of reasons. It has great combat mechanics, responsiveness, and reliability. But character attachment and character visuals is by far its weakest point. That in addition to the sci-fi setting (lightsabers and blasters are much more interesting than the overdone medieval fantasy), which is why Bioware is getting my money now rather than Blizzard.

I agree with you on all that stuff, its why I am subbed to SWTOR instead of WoW, but who spends time looking at their naked character anyways?

The point is, even with a really good computer, the game still runs like trash. I don't even understand how people can argue, if you log into WoW and see how long it loads and then log into SWTOR you will see right away the difference.

Sorry mate, but WoW did not in any way destroy my enjoyment of SWTOR, nor will World of Pandaland ever do that.

I would rather play one handed on 10fps in SWTOR than with 100fps on Smurfcraft.

And as for graphics, I rather enjoy, that my SWTOR char got more polygons on the head than a WOW char on the whole body.
