I think it's a good idea.
The "give them time" part is what people will have a problem with, though. We all know that MMO players want everything now. They have literally no patience.

How else do you think the soon™ running joke came about?

Its not lazy and its not really about the state of the game.
Its about the sheer impossibility of giving a "unique" and "thoughtful" present to each and every one of the 500.000 or so subscribers in the game.
You simply cannot please everyone with one gift.

I dont know anything about Blizzard since I wont touch WOW with a 10 foot pole, but if you look at the forum archives you will quickly lose count of the number of dev posts hyping up some (supposedly) big thing that was coming soon (ie: their many attempts to con people in to staying as the subs continued to bleed)

Many of the gripes of the original players are because many of those coming soon things are now appearing in a watered down version on the CM

In other news...when have you ever said anything negative about this game? How much are they paying you, Andryah? And this is a serious question Andryah...why do you need to feel to comment about other people complaining? Why don't you just you know....talk about the actual topic instead of harassing people, telling them they are complaining? You don't have the right to dictate to me or anyone whether or not someone is complaining.

Some of you need to stop with the harassment. It's ridiculous. This player is just critical about the game, and to an extent, I am too.

I have had no issues about what this player has posted on the forums, and s/he has every right to post their concerns until they decide to cancel their sub for good.

Jeebus, just because we play the game doesn't mean we have to blindly love it like some of you do, and defend it to the point where any critical post—whether constructive or not—is said to be made by a "hater", "complainer", "QQ'er", etc. Even go as so far as to call out the OP for "trolling".
