Just started having this problem too after the last update while someone I play with has had it for a while. I also just got my first error C7. Currently updating graphics drivers to see if it helps. Next stop delete cache and then if that fails re-install. Only thing changed on PC from non crash to crash is the update for SWTOR (Edit- other than turning on AA in game... I wonder - add that to the list of things to try).

Speculation would say perhaps it's to do with error trapping where drivers move on and build is for latest version but then maybe after installing latest drivers will still have the issue. Who knows. Would be interested to know if this has been recreated in a test environment but if test kit is kept up to date maybe not....

Don't flame me but I can't resist - anyone think this issue would still be around after this long if it was the Cartel market that crashed?

Well post an update of the drivers from NVidia to 314.22 the C7 issue seems to have gone away. Flashpoint issue yet to be tested....

Edit: Ran a flashpoint now and still crashes even with alt-tab out for cut scenes so updating to latest driver hasn;t helped

So this bug has basically exists for half the existence of the game? An easily reproducible bug on the very first instance? Why?

I know there's a "work around" for this problem, but I'm totally blown away by the egregious disregard that Bioware has shown regarding this bug. It's been a full year with no resolution in sight. Bioware forum staff have made comments here and there regarding this problem, and yet it persists. Did the development team for SWTOR get cut to a skeleton crew of 2 or 3 people? Priorities folks. Priorities. I know the good people at Bioware who are monitoring these forums are not to blame, but please don't give up on this(us). Those slackers in charge of bug fixing need to be constantly reminded or motivated. Tell them I will buy them all KitKats or something if they buckle down and iron out this bug.

Me too, exact same thing.

Ah! Good idea, I'll try that!

Would it be possible for someone who is encountering the bug to post up the reliability monitor report of their crash?
  • Open your Start menu and type "view reliability history" into the search box.
  • Select the most recent swtor.exe failure, denoted by the red circle with the white X in it.
  • Double-click the related Critical Event under Source.
  • Please post the full information of the reliability history within code tags or spoiler tags

Also, just as a shot in the dark, if you're encountering this could you try minimising your settings as much as possible, and see if the crash occurs.
Thanks again.
Turns out that crash does not generate a report, go figure.

These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

the crash has nothing to do with people's systems. esseles has been broken for months now. my friend and I did it before hutt cartel came out and right at the end, boom, crash. we have different systems and live in different countries = and the spacebar trick did not work for us. All our hard work was for naught.

can we please get an estimate on a fix for this since it's been bugged for so long??

I am having the same damn problem. I've tried everything suggested and not a damn thing works. Get to bout the 3 conversation choice and BAM nothing but desktop. Is this going to get fixed or should we not even attempt to play this FP?

Best thing to do is play fullscreen and minimize when you get to the point of travelling the hyperspace jump, return (maximize) after the jump has occurred, this is the crash point.

Actually, I've seen people crash before that more recently, the last conversation before using the terminal, at the start of it. Those same people used to crash at the end but now crash in the conversation and can return to finish it, but don't know if that's for everyone, probably not.

And the alt-tabbing has been reported to not working at all by a lot of people for a long time now. It's time that is scrapped from a workaround, even if it works BioWare shouldn't hide behind it. At the very least it should not be accepted as a long term workaround.

I'm still one of the lucky ones, but the time this is taking is asking it to get worse and spread to other parts of the game until no one feels they are able to keep playing. It may not affect me directly, but I do get affected because people I group with are affected!

Fully agree with you, I think this crash seems to affect NVidia not Radeon but that is just my observation. could be wrong
