Make Ilum the hub for PvP + Global Chat Channels

I'm surprised that one and a half years down the line, we still don't have an official open world PvP area. I'm kinda embarrassed.

I wonder if the guy behind Ilum still has a job?

I played the living hell out of this game when it released, my guild was a dedicated PvP guild and we would always go to Ilum and murder. Well, the battles began to get bigger and bigger until eventually they were so big you couldn't fight at all. It was funny because people were complaining so much, that a week later, Ilum was pretty much empty because the lag was so bad that no one wanted to OWPvP. Even the smaller battle got pretty laggy. What I'm getting at here is that, they tried it, and it didn't work. People just stopped going to Ilum because it wasn't fun to watch a slideshow.

Oh, and the spawn camping was horrible too.

Personally, I run laps around my ship. I'd love an open world pvp hub, but it would need to be an easier planet to load. My computer doesn't freak out on Ilum like it does with Corellia, Belsavis and Alderaan, but it still has some trouble. And while I don't have the greatest computer ever by any stretch, it isn't a total fossil either. So I imagine there must be others who have similar problems.

You'd need a better planet, especially if you're considering all the extra weight from potential pvpers (this game already has trouble loading 8 people in isolated WZs sometimes). But otherwise, I'd be excited to see something like this.

We need a single planet all to ourselves that is only there for PvPers. Even on PvE servers, you are flagged on this planet. Only PvP rewards, so no one feels they need to go there if they are PvEers.
