Question to PVE'ers about PVP participation.

Do you ever find that you choose not to queue while you are out questing because of the loading time on planets?

It was just occurring to me today that this might be one of the issues with PVP participation.

At least in my case I can say, definitely, as a PVP'er I don't do much questing exactly because once I leave the fleet, the loading times are ridiculous. When I do queue from Corellia or Belsavis I throw up my hands after one or two matches because the loading times are crazy just to go into a 15 minute warzone.

So I'm on the fleet not doing anything, just because if I were on a planet, it would take like ten times as long to load in and out of it.

So I was just thinking, since PVE'ers are always out questing, maybe they're never queuing for the same reason. Yay or nay? Loading times: if they were faster would you queue more?

Wondering - thanks.

FYI I'm playing on a solid state hard drive with a very fast ISP and lots and lots of RAM.

Personally, I'm not bothered by load times. I don't PvP simply because I don't like PvP. If I were into it, I don't think loading times would be much of a concern. As it is, I do a lot of planet-hopping anyway and I don't let anything like that get in my way.

The only way I would ever queue for PvP (or PvP at all, for that matter) would be if they completely revamped the space game to be like the old X-Wing/TIE Fighter games and maybe tossed in a whole new Fighter Pilot class for both sides. Which, due to the work & money it would take, will never happen. But something like that, especially if we could pilot using a joystick like X-Wing & TIE Fighter, which would depend entirely on our individual skill as pilots would be the absolutely ONLY thing that would get me to queue for PvP.

Ditto. Also, I can't stand just standing on fleet waiting for a pop. Whether I'm queuing for wz's, HM fps, or ops I am almost always out doing dailies.

That being said, I won't say no to faster loading times, and if I am in queue for something I prefer to be in a smaller area, ie section x or black hole.

Absolutely it does. While waiting for a pop, I will not leave Fleet because of this reason. God forbid I go to Tat and queue...the loading times are definitely a deterrent for me when I'm on a planet. This works both ways too...I won't queue generally unless I'm on Fleet, and I won't go do PvE if I also want to do WZs.

I support this idea.

It seems like they load faster, also Makeb seems like it loads faster, if I'm not mistaken. I've only queued from them a handful of times though because I'm kind of twice bitten a hundred times shy on planet loading times now.

I don't queue for PvP because I find that most of the PvP population to be full of nothing but a bunch of rampant QQ and e-peen stroking. If I wanted that, I'd go watch pro sports.

I don't queue when out playing PvE content because Bioware, in their infinite wisdom, has decided that if you queue for a FP and WZ, if you get a WZ you lose your position in the FP queue instead of getting a pop during the WZ match (or adding you back to the queue, in the right spot, when you get out).

On my tank or healer this is fine, but on my DPS it is not. I refuse to lose a position in a 1 hour queue (sub-55) to play a WZ because I want some action.

I do some pvp, but only in order to level, it doesn't hold a great deal of interest as it seems too predictable and too much the same, pvp is mainly just common sense anyway, for instance, dont leave a capped node unguarded, so well i give it up and do pve exclusively at end game, and though i dont actually complain about it in a warzone, some players dont exhibit that much common sense.

In regard to load times, occassionally when ive queued on a planet, such as taris (to get away from hating the pain of taris), I have experienced some load times that have timed me out kicking me out of warzones sometimes, but rarely. And of course, times when they pop faster will always be due to the prime time of a particular server.
