Will there ever be anything like arena?

Blizzard has admitted they could never work it out, and regrets ever doing it. I'm pretty sure the devs at Bioware are smart enough to review Blizzards history with arena play and steer clear of it.

And this thread has nothing to do with PvE so stop taking shots at people just because they don't agree with you. Most savvy PvP players, that are not Arena junkies, will tell you to exit stage right with this thread topic. Arena play is bad PvP in MMOs as far as I am concerned. It destroys PvP and PvE balance in an MMO in the process.

If you crave arena style play.... PLAY games with Arena already in them. Stop demanding this game be distorted to meet your cravings IMO. If players would just take arena "as is" then fine, but we all know that is not how it goes... arena junkies start stinking up the game with their constant complaining and demanding nerfs/adjustments that is even more narrowly focused then general PvP complaining.

The fact that every post you make staunchly defends the game exactly the way it is like you are getting paid for it (those of us who are smart to you know that you are) is why I can't take what you say seriously.

My point in this thread is that I'm sure BW could find a way to make it work and that I support it.

Judging by the responses it's obvious to see who the PVE players are. might as well admit it, you'd rather PVP went away all together.


PVP players like me want it, I'm sure BW can figure out a better way to implement it than WoW did. Perhaps that's already being looked into. Arena is fun, and I shouldn't have to be told to go back to WoW if it's what I want.

I would be down for arenas! 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, possible other combos. The one thing I would say is it should be for the same gear as all other PvP events.

I'd like to see Arena style PvP in this game.

Overall, Arenas proved to be a successful project in WoW and loads of people enjoy them. And since ToR is 70-80% WoW clone in terms of game mechanics, i don't see why BW shouldn't adopt successful ideas from the latter.

Yeah, this will require BW to work on class balance alot and constantly make small changes here and there, but hey, this is the nature of any MMO. Nothing is static, everything is a subject to change and eventually changes in one way or another.
