I guess I should have been a little bit more specific, I figured since we were talking about this game that when I asked the question, I figured they meant whats the difference between them in this game, not the difference in definition from an online dictionary.

I do see much merit and can't see why it really matters all that much overall.......ok you have a marauder but theres no way that big guy can be a jugger? really.........perhaps then once you have so many level 55's you could actually BUY with cartel a skip to level 30, you have some good pvp class skills by then and would save considerable time but still making you roll a new character and learn him to 55 and not just skip about on a whim....earn your stripes so to speak, you'll appreciate and enjoy it more.

You have been told many times what the differences between a commando and a vanguard are. You simply choose to continue to assert that no matter how glaring and obvious the differences are that they are not different classes because you want to CHANGE CLASS.

A vanguard is melee DPS/tank. Got that? MELEE DPS and tank, as in needs to be MELEE range. You will rarely see vanguard outside of melee range, and those that are generally do not know how to play the class. A vanguard cannot heal. A vanguard uses a blaster rifle.

A commando is a ranged DPS/healer. Got that RANGED DPS and healer, as in works best from CASTER range, not melee range. You will rarely see a commando in melee range, and those that are generally do not know how to play the class. A commando has not taunts and cannot effectively tank. A commando uses an assault cannon which a vanguard can do nothing with but look at and drool wishing he were cool enough to use it.

The two classes do not even share a common skill tree. The vanguard assault specialist is different than commando assault specialist.

AC is your advance class not your base class, thats the part you keep ignoring. This whole thing is about AC switching not class, you use whole class changing as examples when its not.

Im going to let this thread die, some of you are getting way to angry over my opinion.

Trooper is not your class, it's your base class, according to your own analogy.
Thing is, they're BOTH your class. Neither is a spec. You respec using your talent or skill tree, not by changing either class.

It's not your opinion that angers some of us. It is your closed mindedness and blatant trolling attempts.

Your base class determines your story line only. That is pretty much the ONLY thing that your base does.

Your CLASS determines what roles you can fill, what skill trees you have, what weapons you use, what the best stats are for your character.
