If that's how you feel, why are you still subscribing (assuming you have not canceled)?
Someone is in a bad mood today huh?! Why do YOU care why they want a /sit emote?! Obviously you don't...we get it...move on. They don't need to justify to you why /sit is wanted...this isn't the 1st thread on it.

And obviously the other guy is still subbing because he enjoys the game enough to. With all the vitriolic hate you have for this community lately, why are YOU here? Just to badger people?

Read my words again: Sure, I would not complain if there were a /sit emote. I'm not actively working against a /sit emote. I'm pointing out it's not necessary to RP.

I agree with Branak -- the problem is that people are pissed about this chair being added because they didn't the a /sit emote, and they complain about how much they need it, and it was a slap in the face to RPers.

RPers should stop dramaticizing it. Yeah, you've gotten shafted. Welcome to everyone else in the game as well. PvPers ACTUALLY got a slap in the face, with a "Oh, there will be a PvP update shortly after Makeb!" and then "Just kidding, it'll come in a few months, maybe. And we won't tease ANY of it. Just deal with the bolster that shouldn't've been released and be happy."

Meh...RPers are arguably treated worse than PvPers to some extent. They get some of what they want, just gated by the cartel market. Bioware isn't even trying any more. "SSSP"..."PvP focus"..."We value subs!"...."Wall of cr@zy!"...it's obvious now that they have no intention of any of these things.

If RP is all in the imagination why bother having any emotes then?

People want their characters to be able to sit on more than just a few chairs on their ship where no one can even see them most of the damn time.

Do you remember what Thumper's dad said? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Thank you. Buh-bye.

Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive.

Same as the guy yesterday. Its a case of YOU built up in YOUR imagination what YOU perceived to be getting. Bioware didn't promise anything and the disappointment comes from only YOURSELF building it up to something it was never stated to be in the first place.
Point me to the spot in his post where he claims Bioware promised him anything. You can't. All he said was a chair that lasts for 10 seconds is a terrible idea, and you have to be the most blind fanboi to disagree.

LOL.

"Fanboi" has nothing to do with whether or not you like a freaking chair. . . .

I couldn't care less about the chair, because I have no interest in them. However, if we see high GTN prices and people purchasing them -- it means people enjoy them as they are, as well.

Please leave the "If you disagree with me you must be a blind fanboi" BS outside.

In this particular case, that comment is applicable. Chair sitting is a minor thing but this item screams out one of two things...

1) They put it in for spite or...
2) They are entirely clueless about customer relations.

Either way, it's not good.

seems to me, at some point, there was a conversation. here is a dramatization based on speculation:

bioware staff (1): we should add content
bioware staff (2): ok. it has to be gated through a random # generator and sold through the cartel market.
(1): easy. we have gambling packs. what's something people have been asking for since launch?
(2): i dunno. they want to spend more money on cartel coins?
(1): how about chairs. lots of people asking for chairs they can sit in. how do we implement it?
(2): cartel coins?
(1): let's reskin the temporary heal things we have, like the kolto tank. the art folks can make a chair in a day. it's scripted, animations are pretty much ready to go. it will be easy even for our staff and out the door quick.

RPers: ??????????

now, was there malicious intent? i don't know, but if there was a goal of implementing this because people were asking for chairs they can sit in, it's pretty obvious they failed. you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know the people who wanted to sit chairs wanted to stay in the chairs they were sitting in. in fact, you don't even have to be average intelligence. pretty far below average would have worked. so for noone to stop and say 'you know what, i don't think this is what people are asking for' raises some suspicions.

other thoughts, maybe there was no thought at all. maybe the people that implemented this picked up a chair off the sketchup exchange and had no idea there were people asking for chairs they could sit in. maybe it was developed right, and the timer is a bug. maybe the lower level staff did it right and hickman stepped in to change it because he knew it would piss people off and gets off on that sort of thing (empire favoritism). i have no idea. they don't really communicate except for short rehearsed PR snips.

Kind of reminds you of those post production meetings in Phantom Menace when nobody stood up and said...

"Uh George... Jar Jar is pretty stupid and would have been an offensive racial stereotype in 1820."
