No matter how often i run BT/ESS always ask if people want to watch the clips. Especially with a lot of the new players around.
If they say im new but i dont mind i even force them to watch them
Those 2 instances are just an integral part of your story experience (taking a shuttle to the fleet, suddenly having to do something)
Im all for spacebarring, just be sure to decide on the rules before you go in. If someone wants to watch? you watch.

Didnt see your apology right above my post there.
Sorry about that.

I guess its just the "spacebar, spacebar, spacebar, SPACEBAR!!!!!" people i meet in black talon/Esseless that gets me in an aggressive mood.

But simply put, if you dont want to watch the cutscenes, say so before starting the flashpoint. Or at least say it right at the start.
Dont wait until the cutscenes have started.
That way the group still has time to find a new player while you go out and wait for another group that doesnt mind skipping the cutscenes (which, in my experience, takes as long to find as if you just played the FP with cutscenes from the start anyway.)

I think its wrong to demand skipping convos from somebody whos doing it first time in SM, which is mostly the case with this first FP.

The problem though is lack of communication. Instead of normal talking, people shout at each other from the beginning which often results into some nasty situations. So I suggest everybody who wants to skip, when you see somebody is not skipping in black talon, just leave and dont spam "SKIP" or "SPACE" every 5 seconds. Because I hate it and wont let you abuse others like that.

If you want to ensure a spacebar-filled run, form up a group of like-minded folks and then queue.
I agree 100% with what's said above.
If you join a PUG be prepared to see the entire cinematics at all times. Anything else is a bonus.
Societies in decline tend not to innovate. I just wish we had cellphones to report quests. Guess light speed tech and cell phone tech are mutually exclusive.
I know this image is supposed to be an insult, but it's not.
Two similar games and yet SW:ToR is so much better.

It's a STORY-based mmo. Even if 3 of you want to skip and 1 guy doesn't (especially if he's new), then you have to respect his wishes, just like the game itself does.

Ok, now Imagine if you were watching Empire Strikes Back for the first time and I would just come in and skip most of the talking, watch only several action scenes, then skip to the part where Vader says "I am your father" then skip some more and tell you that you can watch the whole movie after I'm done watching my action scenes. I doubt you'd enjoy the movie very much that way after you have already seen most of the spoilers... Forcing people to skip conversations is no different.

The Esseless (and Black Talon) can be run by two players, I made it so a few times. If you run them to get the loot, good for this level, find out another raider and go for it. You'll not have to wait free player without the Speed walk in the corridors, not have to wait the group finder gather 3 other players of specific role while they all are in the fleet already and the role doesn't matter here, on the top of that, you'll have twice more rewards.

It's silly to demand newcomers to skip the story arguing they can run it alone later, maybe in a few weeks.

For every storymode FP or OP, you can ASK the group to skip.

If there is only ONE person, who says, they do not want to skip, then there is no skipping, easy as that.

If then others push that person into skipping, then they are to blame, not the guy wanting to watch the cutscene.

It took me months on countless runs to finally see the whole story of the storymode ops. And I had to turn TS mute for it, so that I finally could listen to the sequence without a bunch of trigger-happy maniacs talking head over heels about the upcoming boss mechanic.

In hardmodes however, skipping could as well be automatic, as far as I am concerned.

I guess you mean those ops cutscenes that you can play only when you get into instance (hangar) which you cant do without ops group.

There is easy way how to do this without risk of arguing with other people. Its not for you since you did it already, but for others - when you pick up the briefing quest (the nonrepeatable with cutsenes) you can ask a friend to group with you, change the group to ops and then go to watch the cutscenes before the ops. Your frined doesnt have to do anything, only be grouped with you so you can enter the hangar. After you watch the story, you can leave the group and do the ops later.

When you finish the ops later, you probably wont have enough time to watch debriefing cutscenes before the group is dissolved. So what you do is you will just leave the group and again ask your friend to group with you in your 2 man ops group so you can watch the story without any rush.

Makes sense to me to try talking to the other players before you get started. If you really can't abide the cutscenes and others in the group want to watch them, then maybe you shouldn't run it with that group. If you sort that out before you begin then nobody is going to get their knickers in a twist later.

As I really don't mind what we do, even though I've seen those scenes countless times, I always ask if everyone wants to skip or watch, right at the start.

Yes, it makes you one of those guys most people would avoid when grouping. If everyone agrees on skipping, fine. Otherwise, let the new people enjoy the content at a normal pace.
