Pray tell me then, who is "mak[ing you] do something difficult, unpleasant, or unusual, especially by threatening or not offering the possibility of choice"?
Because nobody is doing that. There is no reason in particular (except because YOU WANT TO, which is explicitly outside the "forcing you" meaning) to want to do the pvp quests if you want to avoid pvp. You want the rep? Farm with alts or wait the next time the event comes back: those are valid alternatives that are given to you, so you're not even limited in choice.

I always love when people are trying to offend other people in this matter. I have always found it very fascinating. But no worries, OCD is far more complex problem than that, it is different then just having the need to do something. The feeling of need to achieve something is a question of motivation rather than an anxiety disorder.
OCD comes in very different forms and degrees. My comment was ofc meant in jest and believe me, I will definitely be way more offensive when/if I want to actually offend somebody. I was merely raising the point that such an obsession with having the grand total of TWO pvp quests changed to pve without giving any valid reason other than "I don't want to pvp" is not sane.

Placing PvP quests and PvP areas on PvE server is like placing a firing range in a guns-free zone. Just saying...
And I disagree because I'm a PVPer and I play on a pvp server. I don't play on a pvp server because I find that world pvp in levelling zones is generally unfun for both parties. The gree event is not a levelling zone and the pvp there is entirely consensual, which is just fine by me.
Now, could it have been done better? Definitely, I won't argue with that. The design is somewhat stupid BUT it achieves a very simple objective: it gives an opportunity for FFA pvp in an open zone, something that wasn't there before.

^This.

And let me try to expand the argument:
PVP servers have pve components like all servers. In particular, most of the open world content is PVE by nature, like the "pvp" quests in the gree event. BUT, like the pvp quests in the gree event, by playing in a pvp server you accept the possibility of pvp encounters wherever you are, even if you didn't mean to. In the same way, entering the pvp area to do the pvp quests (even though they feel/play like pve quests) means that you accept (or at least acknowledge) the fact that pvp encounters may happen, whether you want it or not.

If that's the case, I hope they are aware that the exact same mob spawns to the south of the pvp zone.

Yeah and it's actually easier to kill it there, as there is no living soul there 99.9% of the time.

Shh. Don't tell them! Otherwise the continuous stream of tasty QQ from whiny and entitled PVE heroes might end and all my entertainment will be ruined!

I enjoy killing people like you, it literally justifies my $15 to read the tears.

I thank you.

you see an orb and i spot it aswell, we fight for it you WIN the orb you can advance to the middle.
you can see it as a form of capture the flag , you get the flag and then try to bring it home.
the only thing is more are after that flag and to obtain you sometimes have to fight for it, that means some player will have to loose.

im not gonna sit around there for 10 min for a respawn, then wait in the middle again cause some 1 feels hes entitled to it cause hes bin standing there longer.
There is a timer on the orb aswell so i have to plant it asap otherwise it was a waste of picking it up

Anyone whining about PvP in a PvP area should probably just do the PvE quests instead (which there are many more of than [PvP] quests).
In that same vein though I see those same people complaining that a game that was purposefully designed with and marketed as a PvE focused game doesn't have enough PvP focus. Maybe they should follow their own advice here.

Yeah, too bad many people out there love nothing more than to replace the 'unless' by an 'especially if'.
I don't have an issue with there being PvP in a PvP zone, but I have a serious issue with the nature of open world PvP in this game, which is that the outcome is decided the moment the fight begins. It's all really pointless.

It's a bit like wading through a PvE area with gray mobs and killing every last one of them. Not for some quest, just because you can. There's no challenge, no rewards, it's just a waste of your time. But there you get to waste someone else's time.

Don't make the lack of content updates a "PvE vs. PvP" thing. We all want content and we don't need to be divisive about it. For the record, I quit PvP after 2.0 because of bolster and mostly do Ops now. My wishlist for 2.2 was new 55 FPs.
