I like it. I mean everyone gets a chance to get to a level they might be able to do something about other people in PVP. World PVP in 90% of PVE games becomes "Lets drag the most, highest level possible, people into a lowbie zone and pound them. Then move when we lose once."

90% of world PVP on games not specifically designed with the focus or PVP is simple ganking. The 10% remaining is rediculously fun, but not worth getting ganked constantly by someone 5+ levels over you, most likely a stealth class with an escape. Oh wait, here comes a fair fight. Nope, that stealther added on. Oh wait here comes a fair fight, nope he brought friends. Oh wait here comes....20 of them vs 1 of me.

RAWR ok it's PVP time, we slowly gathered a force of people together over time and now we meet them blow for blow. It's FUN!!! We roll them once and 3/4 of them leave. ***!!! You mean we did the PVP thing, hanging in there and working together to fight an enemy...what true PVP is about...and as soon as it got fair or they were at a disadvantage THEY LEFT?

Yes, welcome to the type of PVP inspiring this whining.

I hope one day a PVP system is implemented that rewards fair fights and punishes cowardice enough that open PVP becomes "somewhat balanced PVP" (Not asking for an even shot, just a reasonable chance). Until then though PVP players are simply not mature enough to handle open systems. They are just gankers professing to want a fair fight, while using X or Y class known to be ridiculous at ganking/open PVP. IE lying through their friggen teeth.

This is not my first go round, been playing MMORPG PVP since DAOC. Same arguments every PVE game, same BS reasons that most open world PVP whiners really don't mean. Same proof they don't mean it as the game and games evolve. Every time. Stop feeding me BS like I haven't been there done that a million times. I know where you stand from over a decade of experience with the exact same type of people using the exact same arguments.

I'm sure you'd never play a geared 50 vs lowbies in open world or Warzones either *eye roll*.
I have faith in Bioware and Mythic to deliver a good game. I have more faith in myself to decide in an unbiased fashion whether or not it is good. Neither has any impact on the fact that I will kill you.

I partially agree with your assessment but don't agree 100%.

Why? Because some of us actually appreciate the fact that larger groups "run away" and what not...

Is this not somewhat "realistic" and more "dynamic" than what a group of NPC's would do?

Imagine a mob of NPC enemies standing there and you bring in a group of a thousand players.

Do they run away in fear?

NO!

Only HUMAN players react realistically and it is this dynamic that makes OPEN PVP so FUN!

PvE can go burn in a lake of fire for all I care.

I just left Nar Shaddaa - got a quest there from slicing. Didn't see any other faction / Empire at all. Nadda, zero, zilch. In fact, I only saw 2 of my own (republic). Like I said above - it is what you make of it to some degree. Yes, one can fly here or there...

But the fact of the matter is that the MAPS are huge, require a lot of movement and running between tasks and you hardly see ANYONE. So ignoring PVP for a second the MMO aka multiplayer aspect of the game just doesn't seem to me anyway to be there.

Maybe they have TOO many servers or didn't adjust the popluation / subscriber cap properly. Or they just designed it this way around our levels and at 50 it is a different game all together. I mean honestly how many people are playing? Judging by the queue time I expected to see lots of people around and I hardly do.

Maps are epic but the multiplayer side of it is lacking. Just one mans opinion...

I don't understand these threads.. The game literally just came out and people are acting like it has no chance at all based on what they've seen from 1 day (early access doesn't count, as that's too small of a fraction). On Tatooinee I ran into 3 groups of Republic players on 3 completely separate occasions yesterday. I personally loved it, the companions make things a lot more interesting as well.

You guys need to wait for people to level up, really let the dust settle, take another look at these types of things, then come back here and say how horrible it is.

QFT. You and the other 50 people in this thread or maybe even 100 people in that poll, or even 1000 in that poll in no way constitue "the customers."

You people (by which I mean these whiners and complainers) need to understand that your opinion is just as valid as every other SINGLE person in this game. You do not speak for "the community" nor do even 10,000 people (lol) if they agree with you. This is a stupid, amateurish rhetorical device on par with "everyone knows that..." or "experts say..."

It's rubbish and inaccurate at best, disengenuous and lying at worst. By all means voice your displeasure, but stop with the stupid "the majority hate pvp" and "everyone says pvp sucks" and "the customers say..." It's dumb and inaccurate, and hopefully ignored by the devs who know that 10,000 people might represent <1% of their total customer base (assuming at least 1,000,000 customers)

I rolled on a PvP server to PvP not to PvE, take a look at how WOW set out the faction quests in their contested zones to get a clue how it should be done.

Anyway, it seems the PvP community are not happy about this at all.

To all PvE server rollers you need not reply to this thread as these matters do not concern you, thx.

EDIT: Am actually afk in the middle of the road on a very busy contested zone and I know when I alt+Tab back to the game I will be safe and sound. If this was WOW I would have been killed by now, what a tame safe and sound world you have created and this means for PvP players it's very, very boring.
This game is way to young to predict anything, and also to overreact. Honesty Illum and open-world has not been to its full potential yet, hell game is only 1 day old. Game release was the 20th, it is the 21st, why are we having this discussion?

I don't care if i'm a level 1 and getting ganked by level 50.. thats PART OF THE FUN.. knowing at any moment your day could be ruined..

I really wish a competent company would buy Darkfall Online... It's still the best PVP mmorpg out there..

Sadly the big studios give no props to TRUE PVPers.. just 1 server and a couple thousand people would fill it and play on it..

the rest could go kill their monsters and do quests.. and jump into Warzones w/out worrying about losing a thing

WIN FREAKING WIN

sounds like you've already found the pvp game you need to play. go there and get your props, True PVPer

I think some are not seeing the OP's point which is probably fine. You roll on a PvP server you sort of expect to see a little SOMETING.

The way this game is designed there just isn't anything there. So the $50.00 question right now is this the norm or is it just due to people focusing on class quest.

Design or the norm.

That is all.
