My name is Bruce Maclean and I am a Senior Producer here at BioWare Austin. I know there have been a lot of questions around the forums about what kind of content you can expect from us this year and so I’m here today to give you all a bit of information about what we’re working on bringing to you this summer!

First up, Game Update 2.2, which is currently targeted for launch on June 11th:
  • Nightmare Mode Terror From Beyond. It’s got vicious new mechanics and is definitely not for the faint of heart. I’m very excited for you to see the new gear that comes with this, which uses a new appearance system we’ve developed for armor and weapons called ‘Scrolling UVs’.
  • New Guild Bonuses! Players in guilds currently receive a +5% experience bonus, but now every 5 active players in the guild will add an additional 1% bonus to XP and reputation, up to a maximum bonus of 10% each.
  • Crafters can now craft Underworld gear! But don’t RE that piece if you are still using it…
  • Unified fleet chat channel for each faction, for easier group finding without having to hop between instances.

We’ve seen a lot of requests for a rerun of our Double XP weekends. Well, okay! We’d like to help you stay cool in the heat of the summer with three weekends starting June 22nd and continuing through July 7th. The third and last weekend will actually start early on Thursday the 4th of July, in case you are enjoying a long Independence Day weekend.

By July 9th Ops groups will have had four weeks to cut their teeth on Nightmare Mode Terror From Beyond. That’s when we will launch Nightmare Mode Scum and Villainy as a part of Game Update 2.2.2! New mechanics and unique loot for you.

July 23rd look for a return of the Relics of the Gree Event for a nice two week long run. Per community request the Event will scaled up to level 55 on this next run!

August 6th is our target date for Game Update 2.3, which we are working on right now and will be our biggest update since 2.0. Some of the bigger parts of this update are:
  • New Flashpoints
  • New Daily Area
  • New Recurring Event
  • Significant graphical upgrades

This isn’t an exhaustive list, and we are also working on some longer term stuff. Sometimes we have been averse to discussing specific dates well in advance, because we aren’t going to release anything unless we feel it is ready to go live and we don’t want to upset folks if we move a date back. Well I think we should just tell you what date the teams are shooting for, and if we don’t hit them we’ll just tell you why. Radical thinking, I know. As we get closer we’ll have a lot more juicy details on these - keep your eyes peeled to the forums and SWTOR.com for more information. Also, for those who are curious about the next updates to PvP, I will just say… apart from minor tweaks (like stunbreak abilities cooldown being reset on death in 2.2) you should look forward to Game Update 2.4. /rubshands
Thank you for the giant SCREW YOU to us PvPers. Nice now the only content is OP all summer and the Gree event what is that going to be the 9th time this event is happening? Gree even isn't a event its here ever month.

Looking forward to a new event and new Flashpoints Will be interesting to see the new loot for NiM S&V.

Really looking forward to the update in August, but there's a long summer vacation far from the computer before that. Here's hoping I'm actually at home for the event this time.

edit:
This will be a nice update as well. Like that you will not join certain WZ:s after they pretty much are over, like "Players will no longer be backfilled into Alderaan Civil War Warzone when one team has twice as many points as the enemy team. ". A new WZ would be very nice but I appreciate these little changes. Personally much more into Operations and PvE but have a few guildies who do PvP and I join them sometimes.

Players that are backfilled into a Warzone will be awarded a Reinforcement Medal that will count toward their total medal count for the match. This also means that backfilled players will no longer be put into a situation where they get backfilled into a match and don't have enough time to get one medal and thus miss out on the warzone rewards at the end of the match.

By the time 2.4 comes, it will be too late. You released a freakin expansion with NOTHING for pvp players (NOT EVEN NEW VALOR RANKS, that takes like 30 minutes to program in) and then tell us to wait almost a year after it releases for content we should have had to launch the expansion.
This has to be the single stupidest statement I've ever seen, congratulations sir. PVP players probably barely makes up 5% of their revenue (see look, I can make up stupid statistics too!)

This is absolutely rediculous. BioWare you MUST learn, the field of MMOs has changed. You have enough PvE content to statisfy the PvE'ers. Where on earth is your love for the MAJORITY of MMO players... the PvPers?! I subbed just a week ago only to learn of your lack of love for PvP. You have the money to create amazing content. This game is already beautiful and much better off than WoW was on its first year of game play. Please, please, please understand you are looking at a money tree here if you could just update PvP a little better! World PvP objectives, Arena, PvP gear, anything... just please reconsider your roadmap.

And how do you know that PVP'rs are the "majority of the community" I get you guys have an overinflated sense of worth but I doubt your the biggest portion of players.

Hmm... I also don't quite believe that the majority are PvP-players. Have mostly met PvE:ers who enjoy a bit of PvP on the side. Oh well. Hope that everyone get something that they are looking forward to. I'm still waiting for more companion-time.

I love PvP, but I doubt that PvP-only folks are nowhere near the majority. Most players likely sample a bit of everything. That's why the # of players in WZs they mentioned a few months ago was high...not because there's a huge population of people ONLY PvPing, but that a lot of players play a few games here and there. They are a much smaller time commitment so it makes sense that you'd have a large amount games played.

Only BW know what the majority of the population does.

For me I PvP every day. I do dailies and random HM on my days off. I don't do OP. PvP got no love in 2.0 just screwed over with everything they broke with it. Its been over a year and they have done nothing with Rank PvP. My sub runs out shortly after 2.2. Unless they can impress me I'll buy a bunch of PvP pass off the GTN and go F2P. No point to being a sub. The screw you to sub wait I mean 2.1 and the lack of PvP content being add not worth sub to.

Great, so now everyone can have the best gear again without actually having to raid...This is a terrible change.

I'm all for making this game feel less like stun wars....but this is a bit much. Good luck ever getting past the first door in voidstar or CCing the guy coming down the speeder in CW etc...The CD should definitely be lowered by a significant amount, but resetting on death? Ugh I'm going to hate voidstar even more now.

All looking promising, a shame there aren't any new warzones but, seems like there will be enough to keep people busy at least...

And yay for double exp weekends! These are such a help

Now, with the actual content stuff out of the way with...when are you going to release new hairstyles for Chiss and New hair/hair colour for zabrak? Yes, I know hair is attached to horn style, but I am sure there is something you can do...and not all Chiss want the sleek, well presented look! Some of us are tired operatives! If we want long hair, we should be able to have long hair...
