How I got pwned by BioWare OR a REAL reason to unsub

I would like to see new replies from KILORA and ANDRYAH on the newly added screenshots which back up OP's claim.

I especially like them both to address a) their claims that OP is lying and b) them being sure he already abandoned this thread, because of him being a troll. They both wrote here in a tone that gave the impression that they are 100% sure about their claims and that they know what they are talking about. I would like to know how so.

Why I request these answers from these two entities is also to give them a chance to prove me not thinking the very least I could think of them. I am fairly disgusted by what and how these two commented here, if I may express my honest opinion without being punished for it.

I propose using Ockham's razor theory to be applied on this matter. Doing so shows that the probability that the OP is speaking the truth is by far the highest. Everything else is just guessing and assuming and that is of no help at all. 2/3 of this thread were just trolling in the defense of BW. Shame on you!

On topic, I can only say I'm sorry for the OP. But maybe it is for the better, if a fairytale's gone bad like that. Trust me, your real life will be better without having to worry about virtual economics and wealth. (Trying to cheer you up here.)
Bioware offers a friend referal system which gives referred players a couple of goodies (incl. 7 free days of sub and a neat free 10 x inventory slot for every character) and referring players some little shinies and cartel coins.
I would be happy if you choose my referral link to grab your free goodies.

I have to agree with this. You knew that mails only last 30 days. If you were going to be gone for so long cancel it all and hold onto it until you get back. Tough loss, lesson learned.
Referral link for 7 days of free game time and a starter pack.

The first two screenshots the OP posted pretty much end this thread, don't they?

The game was not at fault. All mechanics were working as intended. The timers expired. The stuff is gone.

Why should anything be restored?

Reputation or high end seller or ammount of credits or anything cannot be any kind of argument in this case. You either restore items lost due to normal game mechanics or you don't.

And if you start restoring such stuff, then you can as well remove the mechanic of mail-deletion right away, cause it would be a moot point to delete the mail, when CS will have to restore all this stuff any time in the future.

It doesn't matter, if the OP lost 10 credits or 150 million credits, he lost the stuff due to circumstances, which Bioware is not to blame for, so I see no reason to restore that stuff, no matter if there are logs or not.

Well for me this thread does start now. The question is why is there a mechanic that deletes messages which contain items or credits.
Why is that necessary? Performance problems?

There is no technical reason for it. Each post in this forum takes up more space than a mail in game and all posts here are stored indefinitely.

But as long as there is a policy to delete old mail, there is no reason to refund stuff, that is lost due to that known policy.

Well it's not 100% correct that messages are deleted after 30 days. Biowares welcome mails you get when you create a new character stay forever (or at least way longer then a month)
And yes for the moment Bioware did nothing wrong but noone should accept it as "that's the way it is" because it is source for problems. (like we see here in the thread)
I don't care if they delete empty messages after 30 days but deleting items is bad business.

Mails sent by NPCs get removed as well.

First of all, it is against forum policy to call other players out.
Secondly -- your opinion on MY posts is COMPLETELY unnecessary. SHAME ON YOU.

You have no right to come in here with some childish attempt to lecture me on my posts. I CAN write whatever I want, and didn't explicity call the OP a liar. I continuously requested information that should've been included in the first post -- as is my policy when ANYONE makes an extraordinary claim.
Now, moving on from your trolling post .

OP: I would HIGHLY recommend seeing if you can find any logs of items purchased straight out from the CM. That may help when taking this any further -- but it may indeed be impossible to get these items back.

I still disagree when you claim it is absolutely not your fault. You are an outlier -- you were unable to retrieve your mails in the set amount of time given. That DOESN'T mean you should lose the items -- but you ARE partially at fault.

BW holds much more of the blame. If they truly have no way of tracking these items after exiration of mail, they need to seriously reconsider the system, as even one person being screwed over by this is unacceptible. I was completely unaware that these logs weren't stored, but also understand the logistics behind why they do not. In any event, I don't think you'll be able to get the items back no matter who you speak to, unless you can find proof of your having the items.

If/when you unsubscribe -- I would highly recommend writing up that this is the reason (assuming it is), so they understand that their system isn't working and is actually harming players.

I thank you for providing those tickets -- especially because I now know to warn people of not grabbing AH mail in time. I apologize for what you've had to go through, and only wish they could've restored the items in question. It CERTAINLY is a major flaw in their system.

I also want you to know that my intent was NEVER to call you a liar -- I was merely pointing out the multiple different possibilities -- many of which are easier to believe than your OP. I'm conditioned to being skeptical of everyone, but I did not mean that as an attack or immediate assumption as to your guilt. I save all "actual" judgements until there is sufficient evidence proving, beyond a reasonable doubt, what happened. Even then, I offer my judgement as an opinion and nothing more.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you never deal with a problem like this in the future -- reguardless of what game you are playing.

The messages from BW are also not created until you log in.

The real reason they delete GTN emails? People use it as extra free storage. Put up 50 items on the GTN, delete the listings, leave items in mail.

Obviously there should be a mechanic in place to fix this -- but clearly they haven't had many (or any other) issues with the system such as this, so it hasn't been given a priority or any level of importance.

I thank you for your effort to write this. And yes, I will not be continuing my subscription exactly due to this issue (although it pains me immensely). I should again say that I was completely unaware of this regulation: 1. I can present a screenie with a mail from Bio that is 450 days old; there were never any warnings/disclaimers in GTN or mail. I actually don't know where I should have come across this ruling. It is for this reason I do no accept any blame.

Thanks again all for your attention to this problem.
