Which boss? Be specific if you want specific help. Some bosses have preconditions on them before you can damage them. Read your mission parameters closely.

On my jedi sent I used Kira from Coruscant to Makeb have almost never died doing my class story or a planet story, and on my shadow I use Qyeeen same story there almost never die. So if you choose a dps companion you should have a easy time too.

Valon is a 39 or 40 elite as I recall. Your going to need a buddy if you want to take him at 37, or wait and do the misson later when you are at equal level. But more importantly.. he's wearing something called invincible armor if I recall correctly. Check your mission parameters because you have to disable that first I believe. In other words, there is one or more mission steps required before he is vulnerable to attack.

If you're doing a quest that says "heroic" on it, it's a group quest that requires you to find 1 or more buddies to team up with. There are Heroic 2+ and Heroic 4s.
