Low level slicing missions - no profit?

Toon is only lvl 15.

I'm breaking even it seems, I lose credits and then make up a couple.

Does companion loyalty help this? If I spend the credit on gifts, will that effect profit from missions?

Does having a higher skill level help or is it governed by toon level?

I'm making a lot less on slicing now than I was yesterday, I think they nerfed it with last nights patch.

This is how it has always been with white box returns. You'll break even or make a few hundred profit or loss. The profits are in world nodes or green quality and higher boxes.

I'm not convinced there was a stealth nerf but I'll be finding out for myself soon.
