I stopped bothering with the Seeker Droid and Macrobinocular quest chains when I realized that the nimwits at Bioware had decided to start out the chains as solo quests and end them with group missions.

The seeds quest line in itself is not problematic imo. Seeds are super easy to find, they always seem to be in some pool of water next to a root.

I did 2 planets on my BH yesterday, 3 searches in the area and I found the seed.

the Heroic 4 missions at the end are some of the most fun and well designed instances in the game.

Only the armor/speeder hunt in random world... that one I can see being problematic, just due to the nature of the area emptying for a somewhat long amount of time after one person finds an interesting item.

There are more than one dig site on each planet...

Finally some useful help here instead of the unfriendly rtfm type of replies.

After searching for hours in vain, I now found two seeds on two planets within few minutes, because I only searched in water pools. This is not logical though. The seeds were planted manually - under water? I - and many others- expected them to be under solid ground. No wonder we found nothing.
Bioware offers a friend referal system which gives referred players a couple of goodies (incl. 7 free days of sub and a neat free 10 x inventory slot for every character) and referring players some little shinies and cartel coins.
I would be happy if you choose my referral link to grab your free goodies.

Anyone who says they can do the seed search fast are just telling internet truths. I spent 2 hours on Tarsis, 10 min on Tat, 5 min on Hoth, 10 min on Alderaan, 3 hours on Voss. I followed the directions and the green/red circle that goes around you at the post scan. I used the buffs. It is random throughout the seed area. No different than HK, you never know where it is burried and if you get a hit its just luck.

For those who keep talking about how easy it is because there are items marked on the ground to where to seek, please just stop with the comments if someone already mentioned that and the OP is probably refering to the seed quest.

Also the person that had to show off because he thinks he is the only one that used the macrobinocs to look in the sky. That does not show the exact spot. It just points to the general area. If you were smart you would also realize that the general marker on your map cooresponds with the over head marker the macrobinocs see. So using the macrobinocs does not help find the seed or various mission items.

Actually, the "corrupted growths" (for the lack of better term) work just as well. I found it quite logical to scan in the location that were most corrupted. I never found any in the water...

I'm a seek-a-holic.......after figuring out a system in the use of the seeker it is now quite easy for me to find the seeds on my alts or searching for the "special treasure" . Gotten so many speeder parts that I've filled almost half a cargo bay with them. Too bad some of the mods can't be RE'd, already got all the others to blue and half purples. I actually like this new time sink, kinda got tired of all the trash mob killing or waiting around for a Q to pop.

I really enjoyed Seeker Droid and Macrobinocular quest chains (as well as HK parts hunt). It's a great break from constant combat, it's different, slow paced and just relaxing to me. Took me about 3 weeks to finish it all, was doing bits here and there in between the usual daily/FP grinding and the game experience was overall better thanks to it.

As for people having trouble collecting seeds. They're ALWAYS inside those black structures. Just scan directly over them and you'll never spent more than 20 minutes in any area since there's no more than like 30 of these structures in each zone.
