Although I started out in the fortune 50 arena, I now work with small to mid size companies. These are companies where one or two individuals are the driving force and set policy and concept. I love working with those companies, because (there are of course exceptions) they care. They care about their employees. They care about their customers. And they care about the company.

PS - The first interest of a company is not profit, it is survival.

Thank you. Its always good to work for a company that both cares about the employees and the customers. I have taken pay cuts to work for better companies.
James Ohlen: " For 2012 we really want players to feel like they're getting their money's worth. You're going to see so many changes and additions to the Star Wars Universe. It's going to be impressive. We have our Update 1.2 coming in the next week and then after that it's going to continue to roll out month after month. It's exciting."

A lot of people don't understand the self respect gained in doing as you do. It is much better to end a day feeling that you earned your pay and did some good and provided value along the way. I will take that over having bled another mark for a few more dollars.

To some degree this thread makes me sad, because I get the feeling that we are devolving into a greed driven dog eat dog society where the only value in others is what we can get out of them.

Best to you.

No extra cost my ***. Every other game allows for their 'barber shop' to be paid with in in game credits, real money isn't even in that picture. I give them my 15$ a month so i don't have to pay for extra features because it's worth it to me. This is an unfair jab at subscribers.

Edit : Many people seem to think this is about money (which in a sense it is) but for me it's mostly about principle. The kiosk should not be done with real money period. Add extra unlockables for cartel coins or for F2P players, thats fine. But if I'm giving you my 15 dollars a month I shouldn't have to pay for things that should be included.

Edit 2: I also couldn't give two ***** about the cathar, I have zero interest in them at all so I really don't care how much they are. This is about the Appearance change kiosk, nothing else.
I'm sure its been said multiple times in this thread, but you get 500+cc a month; so stop buying cartel packs and quit complaining.

Isn't it that if you started from 0 cartel coins, it would take you 3 months to get one of your toons coverted into a cathar? Sounds a little expensive to me, but it might be just me.

Tbh I'd like to see the prices of the kiosk before judging it just because the cathar+race change is so expensive. But if it's gonna be something like 300 cartel coins for changing your hairstyle or makeup, then I'm going to be annoyed.

for the last gosh darn time, this isn't so much about money as it is about principle. Just because they give us a monthly allowance like children doesn't mean they can nickle and dime everyone for everything, especially people who subscribe. They shouldn't charge subs for features that they should get access to int he first place.

So you think company owners would persistently push the company to survive when it's constantly in red and, in their eyes, having no prospect of generating future profit? Other than the case of having loads of money to blow, I highly doubt mentally sane owners would do that.

If we should always turn ourselves around when profit is made at huge expense of others then we probably still living in the medieval ages and this game wouldn't exist. Making profit as a goal for a company is not a bad thing and is actually one of the huge drivers for all the advances we have now. But never confuse executives taking huge risk, on behalf of company, for their private gains as behaviour of a company seeking profit. Recent financial crisis clearly shows this otherwise with banks going bust and executives cashing in the pay.

I'm not sure what Fantasyland you inhabit, but profit is the goal of a for-profit business. Your MBA professors were lying to you. If good customer service is required to maximize profits, then the company will provide good customer service. If it's not necessary, i.e., in a monopoly situation, then no.

And a company survives by making a profit. No profit, company dies.

I could see them charging for race change, body type change, and things of that nature. But aspects like hair, hair color, skin color, facial hair, horns, and jewelry should only cost credits.
