Why rise of the Hutt Cartel is a failure

The storyline here is definitely no where close to the original console game. The characters in this game have felt fairly generic to me, with one exception or two. So I agree with that.

But truth be told this dlc was 10 bucks, so it's really only a quarter of an expansion.

IMHO, You get it wrong. What most people were complaining was the lack of choice. Again just like DA2, ME3 suffered from the so called "Streamlining" EA introduced to the world of gaming.

But hey... this one started out with a bullseye on it.. but has been allowed to generate somewhat productive discussion IMO.. and you have helped that by being candid on your method.

Hehe.. in the larger scheme of things.. you called the Hutt Cartell a failure... so now you probably have a very large Hutt Bounty on the heads of all your characters in game.
Please, I have a bounty on my head anyway :P

All I wanted was to make a discussion. In order to have that people need to have differing opinions, I just happen to disagree with people that love the new expansion.

As someone said, some of the characters, mainly some of the trooper companions, feel very stale. There are some very good characters in the new story, but too many pretty average characters.

And in reply to whoever said was this my first MMO, no it isn't, I played several MMO's before this. The reason I expect so much from this is that it has an average combat system, they never claimed it to be good, what bioware claim is it has the best story telling in an MMO, so that is what I expect, if I feel the story can be better, then I will say so. Sorry if that comes across as ignorant, it is hard to show tone over the interweb.

Start off with a trolling title, expect discussion.

Titles are meant to get people attention. That is what mine did, so yeah, it sort of is logical

Suggestion: next time go with "Look At Me! I'm Nekkid!"

It will get the same attention.....but without polarizing the players on a topic before they read the inside of your thread.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

Dude, I was there for Retake on the Bioware forums. Everyone's complaint boiled down to "I want to tell the AI no and I want to win and I want Shepard to be in ME4".

And Streamlining was created long before EA started with games.

It started with Nintendo. And that damn Wii.

*glares at the Wii*

YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER BROUGHT THE FAMILY INTO THE GAME. YOU WERE THE HARBINGER OF THE OUTSIDERS! HISS! HISS!

Gamers have a tendency to think everything from 10 years ago was great and everything now sucks.

The original KOTOR was not really all that engrossing, and it doesn't hold up. Feel free to play it again. I own KOTOR and KOTOR 2 on steam, bought them at launch on Xbox, and I'm a huge star wars fanboy. The loading times alone completely take you out of the experience. The enemy design was lackluster and repetitive, and the pause and select combat was rather boring.

Also, as regards the combat in TOR, what is it that you were expecting? I agree it's pretty cookie cutter, but that's standard form for most MMO's.

The outcome DID change. My companion didn't speak to me ever again
