OP... you certainly are entitled to your personal views and opinions about the expansion...as others are free to disagree with your assessment. Especially when you make provocative thread titles with bianry polarizing words like "failure" in them..... you are going to get a lot of pushback.

I very much disagree with you. The expansion very much demonstrates that there is more to the development team and the product then what they had to show us at launch. Most comments on the forum have been more along the lines of refreshing suprprise at the expansion.. and I share this view. It makes for more postitive anticipation for what is coming next... though with that anticipation comes the usual impatience in the player base.

BESIDES.... this is Biowares first MMO.... so all your old Bioware - new Bioware based complaints lack proper context. You cannot compare single player games to MMOs.....but if you simply insist... then I submit that MMOs are NOT the right kind of game entertainment for you.

Hence the price. I wonder why they didn't enrich the expansion and try to sell it for 20 bucks. I am sure same people would have bought it. I think, when they started to work on it, they did not know where SWTOR would be by the release date. Hopefully, it sold well and next one will be bigger, better.

The third one is already in production. Dragon Age: Inquisition? DA:I?

They are adapting to the market. The market wants cheaper and more often... which naturally translates to smaller bites on the apple.

I'm not saying if that market shift is good or bad... I'm just pointing out that they do understand their broader market and they are adapting to it. The success of their transition from subscription only to dual access is proof that they do their homework and are able to evolve to market forces. Heck.. the fact that the often overused meme "tortanic" is becoming largely extinct in daily forum memes is proof of that.

I guess in a way... the market forces are driving for "twitterized" content. Thing is... there is probably more truth to this tongue_in_cheek then even I am willing to admit.

You mentioned that this thread is simply your opinion, but the title of the thread, is not one, 'stating an opinion'.

Faux News does this all the time. They report opinion and spin pieces, as if they're fact. The contents of your thread were your opinions, but your title implies that the game is not just a failure for you, but for all.

On a funny note, you reminded me of a (paraphrased) WIll Ferrell quote:

"With all due respect, you're a complete idiot."

'What? I said, 'with all due respect'"
"...what an incomprehensible machine is man! Who can endure toil, famine, stripes, imprisonment & death itself in vindication of his own liberty, and the next moment ... inflict on his fellow men a bondage, one hour of which is fraught with more misery than ages of that which he rose in rebellion to oppose." -Thomas Jefferson

I apologize for the title, that was just there to grab people attention :P

I don't want people to get me wrong, it wasn't awful, there a some good things, but I sort of expected more.... I personally don't like the argument that it is biowares first MMO, they have a lot of people involved with their company, enough of them have experience in MMO's before. So I don't feel that is a good enough argument as to why I should expect less.

I do have a very high bar set for bioware, but that is only because it is bioware and I trust them to make very good games, but I dont feel swtor currently is up to the bar it's other games have set.

Exactly. It is a modern form of internet deception IMO. It does get reads and replies though... so it is an attention magnet.

Good point. One thing I figured though is MMO veterans forget the player base Bioware carried over. I believe there a lot of people like me here who never played MMO but playing SWTOR because of Bioware's previous games. These guys are the ones mostly asking for class stories etc. I wonder what percentage of the subs consist of us. Do Bioware know their base?
