Sure, the result of that was destroyed player agency and a character with no ability to take the initiative, even if the player could deduce what was going on, but I don't criticize them for wanting to try something new.
and no Morrigan. I like Tallis. but seriously, DA:I needs Morrigan.

Secondly, the decisions, in old bioware games the decisions you made ACTUALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE! Now, nothing changes, not even what the person you are talking to says. That hurts bioware... I mean wow... it is lazy, that is the only way I can put it..
I have to take issue with this bit.

Firstly, the planet stories are the same because a war is going on. You are literally on each planet to
A. Do your story missions and
B. Do your part in the war for your faction.
You remain pretty much all that stands in the way of chaos.
Of course you would get bored by your 2nd...3rd....4th play through. How many other games can you do the same things over and over and never get bored? Try playing KOTOR 7 times in a row and see if you aren't crying by the end.

Secondly, I call party foul on your "nothing changes" bit. People do react to what you say and do. Sometimes, people even die.

If you don't like it, it's well within your rights but your personal reasons do not make the ex-pac a failure to anyone but you. I declare your title pompous and utterly ridiculous.

I think maybe you expected too much OP. I think Makeb was actually a step in the right direction for many reasons.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

I forgot to mention that, sorry. Claudia Black is awesome. Even when she was playing a psychotic quarian admiral, she was simply awesome. Morrigan was a great character. Hopefully she'll be back if the series ever recovers enough to get a third entry.

As I said at the top, this is completely my own opinion, so please keep from flaming.

People may react to you differently, but in the story from this expansion, no matter what I say, they will get the same point across, I will have to do the same thing, and that choice I have made, will have little to no relevance to the future of that story or side quest. Compare this to the start of Tython, where your character is sent out to find the missing students, and you are given a choice, either send them back or help them take revenge on the flesh raiders, and that choice actually did something and changed the mission.

How often do you see that in this expansion? My answer, not enough, for a bioware game, there is not enough decisions that actually change how the game is played or how anything progresses.

Again this is only my opinion, I respect that everyone has their own opinions, but keep from flaming

Agree on Claudia Black (She was also in Pitch Black, right?) and Morrigan. And they already announced the third entry. However I do not agree with you on Dragon age 2 story. my view is (like couple hundreds in the DA2 forums) they dumbed down the game and rushed it, not tried a new storytelling. Add this to cheap recycled dungeons , the end result was a disaster which took around a year for them to admit.

I thought Dragon Age 2 was awesome apart from the reused side quest areas

Oh c'mon man. KOTOR? Really? Have you tried playing that game lately? People hold it up like its the end-all of RPGs, but I assure you there is a lot that could be improved. More people need to ditch the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and live in the here and now.

The only real issue I have with this expansion is the lack of truly new FPs. Harder difficulty versions of old FPs, while appreciated, do not = new. Beyond the planet storyline and 1 OP, there is no new content (am not counting dailies... dear god, more danged dailies!).

Am hopeful that new FPs will be created, as the game has become a drag, for me, doing the same exact content over and over. Before creating an alt is suggested, I have 12 50s, and repeatedly leveling through the exact same content is no longer bearable for me lol.

Love the SW property, but if things remain stagnant for too long then I think longevity here will be difficult.
