Until lvl50 it really doesnt matter what gear you have or if you have all abilities (trained). And most people leveling alts during double xp weekends and they can provide their alts with money from their main. So no problem either way.

horrible idea, unless all you care about is getting your character to Lvl.50 just to PvP... otherwise it ruins the already insultingly easy to level up in story and side quests portion of the game, you know the main point of the game... i don't even log into the game when it's 2x XP, i'm already overleveled enough on all my characters as it is, just from Story Line and Side Quests...
if all the great fashion designers have gone over to the Darkside, then i will too...

because after a year and 4 50s i dont care for sidequests anymore. i´m only interested in the story-arcs.

I didn't get to make use of any of the double XP weekends. My character hit level 50 on Taris, so I ended up doing Quesh, Hoth, Alderaan Bonus Series, and Belsavis at the level cap... and I still have Voss and Corellia ahead of me to finish before the expansion comes out.

I only really took advantage of this past one, but I have to say I loved it. I've already got 6 level 50s and 4 more around 40-42. The gearing isn't an issue as I have all relevant crew skills and heaps of mats to make whatever I need and the cash to buy what I can't. I hit Legacy level 50 months ago and I've seen all the planetary side quests more times than I care to think about. Being able to skip a large majority of them was a refreshing change from the grind of leveling and let me do a lot more of what I cared about, which was the class story and certain planetary arcs that I've always enjoyed.

I think it was a good idea but it shouldn't happen to often and not 4 weeks in a row. There are a few reasons why the frequency matters.

1) Some people don't want it. So use it sparingly.
2) Some people get used to it when it happens frequently and this causes them to be disappointed when it's gone. 4 times in a row is enough for people to get used to it, causing them to complain to have it constantly.
3) For new players it can be a bad thing, because they go through content too quickly and the challenge level becomes too low causing them to not learn their classes very well, creating endgame issues.

Especially for the last point I would like to suggest that an expansion should also add lower level elements to the game. This will make the expansion interesting for players who aren't ready for the high level stuff and adds to lower level content keeping it more fresh.

Some people only care about PvP, so there's motivation right there for MOST people to love Double XP. Me personally, I hate a chunk of the planets that I play on; therefore I relished DXP so I could skip these planets and continue in my story progression. I've done the planet quests so many times on all my alts, I get tired of it and PVP isn't fun enough on its own to make me just want to play it by itself unless I'm rolling with a premade (which I never am).

I think maybe if planet quests somehow affected your main quest with certain dialogue options and certain people from side quests showing up, if but momentarily, to give some sort of aid or something it'd make them more appealing and would TRULY be unique to each player.
