The baddies will always be offended while the decent ones realize that the team is indeed bad and there's no point in arguing on the topic.
I get snarky with them when they go off on my team. It does not have to be directed at me. I don't appreciate their attitude. I do it because nobody else will. Has nothing to do with me or any other player being a "bad".

I actually once snapped a little at a person who said that the only people who knew how to play at all in the wz was he (the whiner) and me.
It's not about who they whine about, it's just the fact that they start whining.

Nobody wins when your team has to carry you because you're having a tantrum over something someone said. You are screwing everyone on your team over. You aren't being the hero by having some guy yell at you. You're just being justifiably yelled at for your actions. If your reaction to negative words is to make an effort to be useless to your entire team, then leave the game. Or better yet, don't queue at all. What you've described is one of the most disgusting things I've heard anyone do in PvP. Maybe that guy said something mean. Maybe that guy didn't have time or willpower to sugar coat his words when someone screws up bad. Hell, maybe he was justified. But at least that guy is contributing to his team through action. Your reaction is completely childish and screws over 6 other people that had nothing to with your hissy fit.
Being a decent human being > being good, or trying hard at a video game

While I certainly wouldn't afk it because some dill-hole talked some smack, I powerfully resent the idea that someone yelling at strangers is "justified".

Find a fat chick. Knock her up. Have some rugrats. Wait 13 years and play some MMO PvP with them. Those are the ONLY people at whom you will EVER have the right to yell. Everyone else is tolerating your bad behavior because you are safe and anonymous on the internet, NOT because you have the "right or justification" to behave that way. Period.

Make no mistake. Person A talks smack. Person B decides to afk it for the rest of the match to spite them. Person A is NOT the "good guy" in that scenario.
What we don't understand, we can make mean anything.

This should be the most frowned upon comment on any game related site.

First, what exactly is the definition of trying hard? And what other levels of trying are there, trying medium and not trying at all? To me there's only trying and not giving a ****, the latter being the same as not playing at all. Is trying less to all of a sudden, in the middle of a fight, go yeah I'm just going to let the other guy win. Or how about logic? People apparently have an off switch for that (Logic OFF // Stupid ON), it's IMO the only explanation to how they're able to cross streets in real life but can't spot a guy 3 in-game ft behind them in a warzone or how six guys can stand infront of a door with no enemies on VS and then yell at the people on the other side for not calling inc. Where the **** els would the enemies be? Then they have the audacity to throw a fit when someone tells them to get their stuff together.

So please, explain to me and others how this thing works.

It's not about talking smack, it's about expecting even less than the bare minimum out of some players. If a teammate is literally just standing next to a node while it's being capped, I'm going to say "watch the cap!". If he, within the time I say it and the cap completes, doesn't actually stop the cap, I'm going to say "You *********** clown". Or when I see the ball carrier running through the pit I will say "Don't stand on ledge, carrier inc", and if my teammate's reaction is to run up to the ledge and spam his auto shot, I'm going to call him a *******. When a side node guard says "inc 1", and my entire team leaves mid all at once to go help, I'm going to say "stop *********** zerging". All justifiable reactions.

These are extremely basic concepts that I even warn before it actually happens to avoid. Something that could of easily been avoided and gives the enemy team a game winning advantage just because someone isn't even trying. It's a team game, and you expect something from each and every person. It's completely fine if someone isn't that good. It's one thing if you are just outclassed by the enemy team. But it's a completely different thing if one or multiple people on your team existence literally brings your entire team down. I don't feel anyone has any obligation to sugar coat what needs to be said to that person in the heat of battle. They screwed up bad and that's their reward.

Now if we're talking about people that trash talk their entire team over little **** that couldn't be avoided or is just part of PvP (such as the other team being better, enemy team having heals while you don't, and so on), that's a completely different story.

Also person B is even worse in that scenario of yours. Person B is literally bringing the entire team down while person A is just spewing words.

Most of the epeen keyboard warriors yelling into the chat are more upset that the "team" of puggers can't carry his worthless tail to victory. They (loud mouths) are more upset with themselves and take it out on the people who actually attempt to win even if they haven't mastered the WZ, yet. Those that spend more time yelling have nothing to offer the team anyway since they are spending more time typing than actually contributing.

Let the raging begin in:
3 . . . 2. . . 1 . . .

Oooooh! Now that sounds very politically correct, too bad it's not true.
Just because someone yells at you it does not make him a bad player, and just because you try hard, it does not make you a good player.

The trash talkers, griefers, and general ******s in SWTOR are amateurs. Play EVE Online for an hour. It would make 90% of the players here cry.

But it's SWTOR not EVE.
