It's been brought to my attention (looking at the forums.. look at em sometimes, lotsa stuff going on around here) that there is the possibility to "game" the system in gaining XP when the new planet (the one talked about being free when announced but now costs cash) goes live.

"Gaming The System Method":
Folks will fill their 25 quest limit (why hasn't that limit been expanded upon by now?) with level 50 quests, only to then turn them all in (while using XP boosts), and gain about a level (out of the gate, thus giving an unfair and unintended?? advantage) or so thereabouts. Sure.. a level or two.. or a level and a half isn't much in the scheme of things, but - it's still there.

I recall a certain outcry concerning the double XP, Ilum, Gree event ... I dunno. It's kinda hazy. According to all concerned ... power leveling wasn't meant to be a by product and thus changes were made (that effected legit players.. dang.. really??? Wow.. that must have been one hell of a tight panty twist players presented (because as we all know, via the thorough testing you have in place, it would have been caught prior to going live).

Well, here is a clear cut case of power leveling right out of the gate with Makeb or whatever it is.

Soooooo .. my petition to you, the powers that be -- you are NOW made aware of the XP "exploit" (not intended - see ilum) byproduct of the live release of the new planet. Are you going to wait or are you going to take steps NOW to ensure folks can not gain XP in non intended ways? -- wipe .. WIPE allllll level 50 quests at login.

On the 8th, make a login announcment to turn in any quests pending at level 50 or lose them. Simple. On the 9th, any quests pending will be wiped at login.

It's the ONLY FAIR thing to do (considering what you did to the Ilum quests). Unless of course there is some kinda weird double standard thing going on.

Thank you for your time.

I honestly doubt that they will do anything at all about this. It is a common expansion practice in any MMO with a questing system like this. WOW had it, RIFT had it, LOTRO had it, the list goes on and on. This is commonplace in the MMO world and only really affects those who choose to use it.

I'm not sure I get it. Couldn't I do this any day of the week? Like I can fill my log up right now with a bunch of quests at level 50... oh wait. I see.

Yeah... I dunno if it's really that big of a deal...

Bioware intends to give you xp credit for turning in lvl 50 missions so you can't really say its an exploit. Heck, I bet they even expect you to do something like this, because doing all of the story content on Makeb will only barely get you to lvl 54 with xp boosts. It won't even be a full level anyway. I'm pretty sure the xp it takes to get 50-51 is scaled much higher. The same thing happens in just about every MMO expansion, and it isn't considered an exploit. An exploit is going to Ilum and getting 10-50 in 10 hours, not saving a few hours by doing quests the day before that are intended to grant xp anyway.

Not only is this not a big deal -- if they've done it like ANY other MMO when the level cap was raised -- those 25 quests will get you minimal experience.

Done right, 50-51 should take at LEAST as much ex as 45-50.

How is turning in quests received via normal gameplay unfair to you? Why do you care whether or not a player decides to powerlevel from 50 - 55? How does that impact you in any way?

Personally, I think it's foolish to powerlevel. We've waited this long for new content and now people want to chew through it and get to 55 now Now NOW! Then they'll complain they have nothing left to do. Silly them.

How is their foolish silliness "unfair" to you?

Lets for the moment assume Bioware has no plan to prevent what you're describing (although I'm betting they do). How exactly does this effect you?

Powerlevelers only hurt themselves by rushing through content and then whinning that there's nothing to do. For myself, if anyone wants to do as you describe they can have at it.

Err... so you can do that now at any level but 50. Got to a planet... hoard your quests... turn them in at the same time XP boosted etc. etc. What am I missing exactly?

Besides... I don't care how fast peeps get to 55 really. I'm going to be enjoying the heck out of Makeb anyway.
