Insanely angry about the GTN tonight...

I never really bothered with the 22's to be honest. The 17's have a tendency to go for 10-15k as well, but aquiring their mats is a lot cheaper. Basically, from lvl ~41, the price of all those things drops a bit, for two reasons:
1. Speeder 3 training costs 150k, taking a big chunk out of peoples' budget
2. lvl 50 with a free set of Tionese gear is just around the corner.

So, that's why I generally stick to making mods in the 21-41 range.

Funny thing I noticed: the armorings and hilts/barrels sell for as much as the mods and enhancements, even though the armorings and hilts/barrels are WAY more important, and even though they cost three times more in commendations. For 1 hilt/ barrel/armoring, people could also buy three and a half mods or enhancements from commendation vendors, and simply buy the hilts/barrels/armorings on the GTN. Yet, it seems people rather buy the hilts/barrels/armorings from the commendation vendor, and buy the mods/enhancements from the GTN instead.

The market does have and alway has had wild swings. Unfortunately many come as a result of changes in the game such as have been identifed (Gree event drops, changes coming in 2.0. free level 50 gear, etc.) Even the most savy player / crafter can get burnt from time to time. The key is to build deep pockets and diverse offerings (both in craftable items and mats) and be an oppertunist. Build the capacity to react quickly when there are credits to be made. Understand what has long term potential and will rebound and what will die and never come back. For example, after 2.0 was announced I dumped about 200+ mk-6 kits (in lots of five to ten so as not to drive down the prices) when they were selling at 34K plus because I don't think that they will be of much value when the new kit levels are announced.

Be very very careful when you see things that are underpriced. There is a reason. If it is a mistake or someone dumping something that will come back, then buy. But you can be burnt badly if it is something that is tanking and will never rebound.

I feel for you because, indeed, a player with just one or two craftng / gathering characters and a small amount of credits is at a severe disadvantage.

Take your time, build your loot and decent reserves, bring on other characters with different / diverse crafting and gathering skills and you will be fine. You have had a set back and bad experience. Don't let it discourage you, just get back into the pool and kick like crazy.

Also people don't tend to buy the mods, armorings and enhancements seperately as I have found its often cheaper even with max cybertech to just buy the moddable gear for your level off the gtn as I often get a peice with all 3 mods for around 20k instead of 20k each, this is one of the reasons I havent tried to make money with my cybertech

If you don't have a whole lot of resources its better to simply sell mats than sell crafted goods. Its more difficult to compete in the crafting market if you can't afford to have hundreds of thousands or millions of credits in inventory on the side.

The mods drop like candy during the Gree event, just wait a few more days and the market will return to normal. Though I don't actually see a market for level 49 mods...

This too. Level 49 gear has always had a pretty bad margin compared to lower level gear.

People are clueless. Some would rather lose money than see someone else gain profit.
Some people are just plain ignorant. My fav example is the Legacy perks that are only useful for F2pers that cost more than a F2per can even own lol

My 2 cent :
+ No one want to buy 22 stuff since they are only 1 level away from much better ( and free ) stuff.
+ Voss commendation.
+ Those blue mod/enhancement drop like flies in this game.
If you want to earn credit by crafting in GTN at your level, i think you should better go for much lower level purple stuff, they sell much better imo, or just sell material.

Just another two cents worth.

I just checked the GTN and see blue Initiative Enhancements 19 (for example) starting at 20K and no Bulwarks at blue (purples are very high.

Just craft things like that, things that sell at a high price with very few listings and you will be o,k.

LOL, the prices of the level 22s are insanely low.

Supply and demand, demand is very low on those armorings and supply is too high so price go down like crazy, they arent worth much anyway since you get can get better armoring for 9 coms on any daily planets.

Also check before crafting next time.
