Insanely angry about the GTN tonight...

So I've spent the last few nights sending my companions out on fetch missions to gather materials for me to build a big round of enhancements to sell on the GTN, which I do about once a week or so to help fuel my upgrading and crafting-leveling needs. I finally get all my mats collected and run my series of build/RE on the next level items to get my new greens set up into blues. Great, now I'm ready to start building a bunch of new enhancements to sell. Last night I check, get an idea of what's likely to sell at a good price, log off. Today I come on, start building my highest level series items... the advanced series and high-level blues... get through several hours worth of crafting and then log onto the GTN to sell them... start running buy-checks to see what they're selling for and this is what I find...

Level 22 blue enhancements have flooded the market at 2300 a piece. These are enhancements which cost over 10,000 a piece to buy mats on the GTN for, or 2-5,000 a piece to get mats via gathering... and worth probably 25,000 or more each at fair market cost... but there are literally dozens of them by half a dozen or more players packing the GTN at a fraction of the build cost.

What the hell is going on? Is this just a bunch of people trolling/griefing crafters or what? I'm so angry right now I can't even stand to log back into the game. Here I am trying to earn an honest living, and I can't even put my goods up for as much as they cost me to build. I checked, and the price they're being offered at is the "default" price you get when you first choose the item to sell. Are people literally that stupid to just pick this price?

I spent my last 25,000 buying out as many of the 2000-cred Battle enhancements as I could, to sell at less than fair market cost, but still there are a handful up there at 4000, and it's driven down the cost of the 17-21's too.

These people have basically destroyed the market right now. What would cause people to do this?

They don't know any better. just give it time they will sell.

Yeah i doubt they would waste all those credits just to randomly troll people... especially since they don't even get to see their reactions.

I'm sure they are just in a rush and didn't check or they just don't know better. Just hold off your goods, the low priced ones will pass.

You can only have 50 planet comms when the patch hits.

Players are just using their Voss comms, buying blues, and selling them for profits. And they should. they earned those comms, with blood, sweat, tears, and grinding.

that's way more ever than crafters and their 'give me stuff for free, I clicked a button' attitude.

Maybe... I could honestly expect to see one or two people make the mistake of selling one or two high-level mods for what is essentially the cost of a low-level green... but in pretty much every 17 and above-type enhancement category, with at LEAST half a dozen different players putting up several PAGES of minimum price mods? I can only think it's intentional.

If I could get some folks to donate about, say, 500,000 credits in total, I could almost certainly guaranteed them a 100% return on the investment... while I'd take the money and work to re-adjust the market.

Gree, Black Hole, and Section X Dailys areas all have dropped random blue and even purple level 22 mods for me... in abundance.

I would guess this is one of the reasons why the market it pretty flush.

A large portion of players sell items in the auction house for less then what they can get from a vendor. So selling items for far less then their worth shouldn't come as a surprise.

Yeah, these are todays players.

The Gree Event area is dropping 22 blues like party favors. I'm getting between 1-4 with every pass through the area. This is why the GTN is flooded with those mods atm.

If it's the same person selling a bunch of them, then I have no idea. If it's different people selling 1-3 of them, I bet they got them by drops or comms and don't realize how much more they can sell them for. If they are so dirt cheap in your opinion, buy them and resell them at your price.

I haven't done that in this game but once or twice when I played WoW, I made a lot buying the people who grossly undercut and resell for the price I wanted.

I've just been REing them for mats - because I assumed the market was flooded with them.
