Whats the point BioWare?

I would like to ask a few questions to our game developers:

1. Why do you allow to create more characters than server maximum capacity? People have to wait 1-2h in queue. You should provide access to the game when a player desires it. Its like a roulette. Maybe i will be able to play, or maybe not. Its not a free game! And also not cheap for most of players.

2. Players over the past two weeks pay attention to the lack of search bar. Is it so hard to add a search engine? Forum has a poor structure and finding a specific information takes ages. Or maybe u did that on purpose?

3. Add local (for specific areas) in game chat channels. One Global channel for whole server makes a mess.

4. Did the Developers ever played MMORPG games? MMORPG games evolved last 10 years. I feel the same way as 7 years ago when WoW was launched. Why not use good practices developed over those years?

5. Its kinda cheap not give a paper manual in box version LOL. Its funny and sad when ppl ask where they can repair gear.....

U probably paid lots of money to develope and organize beta testing. I give u my advice for free. I would like just ONE time to see a premiere of a game that isnt fuc...d up first year of playing.

In addition:
-why even on low populated servers are so big delays in server response? For a pvp player this is unacceptable.
-create a topic where people can point problems they encounter.

I hope theres someone who has the courage to answer to this questions. And show some RESPECT. Most of us players are adults and your standard answers are most of the time an insult to us.

Todays alert about maintenance is just silly. Dont treat us like a stupid herd of money-making machines.

I'll copy this post, becouse i know that You are deleting inconvenient posts. And im still waiting for an answer from game support...

Have a nice day

EPIC FAIL BIOWARE

Anyone also notice that you may make a tab for trade, guild, team and PM's BUT when you type in the guild tab that unless you type /g the chat will go to whatever the chat is set to (general for instance). Did it never occur to the Bioware QC people that players would want to be able to set specific tabs to specific channels?

EPIC FAIL BIOWARE

EPIC FAIL BIOWARE

The manual is horrible there is no useful information. Why not explain the skill / crafting system in great detail and explain the mods, components ect.......

Have a nice day

Has anyone that worked on this project EVER played an MMORPG?

The in game help system is the worst ever and has never returned the information i requested. The list of EPIC FAILS could fill pages.... My question is will EA offer full refunds for this game? While the story line is very good and fun the game mechanics, support and information available to help people understand the game to avoid choosing a crafting skill only to find out 20 levels later that they made a mistake.....

I'll bite: good practices such as?

And I think EA quit using paper manuals earlier this year, which I find totally okay. Maybe the lack of a proper tutorial/help system is somewhat of a problem, since some game mechanics are not properly explained at the moment.

Cause all the players play all their toons all at the same time 24/7, amirite? Also, nice way to ignore the fact that Bioware had 140 servers at launch, and are adding more and lifting the server population cap!

2. Players over the past two weeks pay attention to the lack of search bar. Is it so hard to add a search engine? Forum has a poor structure and finding a specific information takes ages. Or maybe u did that on purpose?

Not really sure what you're trying to say here - but I'm assuming English isn't your first language? I can't say that I've actually had a problem with finding information, but then again, maybe that's cause I know how to find what I'm looking for.

3. Add local (for specific areas) in game chat channels. One Global channel for whole server makes a mess.

I'm pretty sure that each planet has it's own channel - the "General" channel you're referring to. If you make it smaller, and go by zones on each planet, then you're going to miss out on group quest requests etc. If you don't like it, you can always turn General off.

4. Did the Developers ever played MMORPG games? MMORPG games evolved last 10 years. I feel the same way as 7 years ago when WoW was launched. Why not use good practices developed over those years?

Name one flawless MMO launch. Ever.

5. Its kinda cheap not give a paper manual in box version LOL. Its funny and sad when ppl ask where they can repair gear.....

I'm sure they'll give a paper manual when they figure out how to patch it. With a constantly evolving game, paper manuals become obsolete pretty quick. If you need an example, look at WoW's manual or Starwars Galaxy's manual. The way mods and armour/weapons work has drastically changed already since late beta, and the manuals would have been printed months ago, before all the changes were implemented.

U probably paid lots of money to develope and organize beta testing. I give u my advice for free. I would like just ONE time to see a premiere of a game that isnt fuc...d up first year of playing.

Good luck with that. Also, thank you for your free 'advice'

In addition:
-why even on low populated servers are so big delays in server response? For a pvp player this is unacceptable.

Are you talking about lag? I'm sure Bioware are responsible for your connection, how far you live from your exchange, and every hop in between...I'm Australian, and I've not encountered lag much at all.

-create a topic where people can point problems they encounter.

Oh, I'm guessing you didn't see the bit where they created a forum dedicated to just that?

I hope theres someone who has the courage to answer to this questions. And show some RESPECT. Most of us players are adults and your standard answers are most of the time an insult to us.

Why do you demand respect when you don't give it yourself? Perhaps if you asked yourself if there was a reason behind their decisions, you'd be able to reach logical conclusions, too.

Todays alert about maintenance is just silly. Dont treat us like a stupid herd of money-making machines.

I'm not even sure what you're on about here. Do you mean the 'maintenance' for the official release? Having been given the date weeks ago?

I'll copy this post, becouse i know that You are deleting inconvenient posts. And im still waiting for an answer from game support...

Seriously - whinge more about pointless stuff? How about chat channels disappearing, despite having all the right boxes checked? How about the tooltips not updating properly on orange armour and weapons?

Answers simple...if all your points above are annoying you - you don't have to play.

I love you. SO very much. You are my Favorite MonCal Ever. I couldn't help rereading all of the responses with a snarky Yahtzee impression in my head when you mentioned you were from Australia. I agree that the game needs a bit of a better tutorial but the new player tips do describe pretty much everything you need to know. What isn't mentioned is lamentable but hopefully they'll rectify that.

As to the rest of the gripes, did you even read your own typing, OP? One of those arguments made a little sense and even it is triflingly small. The rest were look like you got drunk and forgot the real issue.

I expected more from this game. I know that no game was perfect when realesed and it will be developed in real time.

The point is the whole realese process is an EPIC FAIL. So many people waited so long for this game (me to), so many basic mistakes were made that pissed lots of people (and that could been easily avoided).

We have almost year 2012 but developers make same mistakes like in 2002. ***? We have better tools for developing, implementing, testing new software; new project managment methodologies; new user friendly solutions.

I work as a IT consultant. Every day i design, develope, implement and test Management Information Systems. And as a such specialist i say this realese was horrible (for year 2011).

And my response for people who say "u dont have to play" is:

Ive buyed the game, also had to buy 60 day prepaid to activate account. So i expect that for my hard worked money i will get a good product and will be happy, not frustrated....

P.S. For my typing. English isnt my native language. Try to write some complex sentences in danish (i speak polish, danish and russian, started to learn english). So dont be a fuc..ing smarttas.s jesus

For Erahth - read the damn alert message about maintenance

I stopped there. By going through your posts my only conclusion is that you're the only EPIC FAILURE related to this game.

After having been through 10 or so releases of mmo's, I can safely say that this is one of the most successful ones I've been apart of.

Server queues, haven't really seen them in a while due to the fact that there hasn't been big enough releases!

Now get a grip and go do something instead of crying yourself to sleep and writing nonsense on the forum.

OP you have the IQ of a soil sample.

You keep going on about Bioware ignoring innovations from previous MMO's but you don't cite a single example. I've been playing MMO's for over a decade and I haven't enjoyed an online game this much since the original EQ.

If only stupid people were smart enough to realize that they are in fact, stupid.

Hey Hey everybody,

Well I wanted to give my 2 cents about the game, first off I am not an MMO player, I've never really played MMO's but because of bioware (And their reputation with story) and this being a storydriven MMO, I got really excited about it.

And I am still excited about it, I've been playing for a while and I believe there are a few balance issues here and there in the class I play (Sith warrior Marauder) But nothing that really impairs playing out the quests and storyline.

As far as tutorials and such go, it's pretty straight forward if you just read the text when you hover over things.

I do have a tiny bit of lag sometimes, it's like a split second delay at random when I use my skills, but once again nothing that isn't to be expected with launch and incredible busy times. Also not something that gets in the way of enjoying the game.

The only thing that I as a former non MMO player would like.. Is an extra quick bar because switching bars is horrid :P

Apart from that, great game Bioware and keep up the good work, you guys really are the kings of story driven games.
