Those people, will be jerks without them. The difference is, without a DPS meter you won't be able to prove they're wrong.

DPS meters and UI customization need to happen. ASAP. Be it BioWare's design or addons, I don't care. I never used gearscore anyway. My "not optimal spec" and "low gear score" kept me in the top 3 DPS in everything I did in WoW.

Grow a thicker skin and learn to prove people wrong instead of trying to get useful tools avoided because you don't like the pressure. You don't want to focus on how to be the best you can? Spend your time crafting, not in operations.

This is a ridiculous argument. People who want to improve need tools like DPS meters and UI customization to do so. People who don't want them, spew BS about having fun and not being judged poorly. If you want to improve, you'll like the tools. If you don't, you don't really need to be in the situations where people find the tools useful, as they're specifically progression and improvement based - not story or social.
This. If people don't like addons, don't use them. As a tank I hate not seeing a target of target, I hate not seeing if I fully have aggro, and I hate seeing everyone else's buffs. Addons have been in games long before WoW, they only popularized them. Addons make things a lot more user friendly.
Scoundrel? Scoundrel? I like the sound of that.

I'm probably one of the few who actually loves dps meters, it's not to stroke my epeen but I like to see how I'm doing compared to other ones. Sure, the boss dieing is most important thing, but it sure helps to optimize your damage so the boss dies faster.
On top of that I always liked some competition in high end raiding, it makes people better.

Threatmeters are also kinda useful, heck as a merc I get an ability to lower my threat but how can I use it efficiently when I don't know what my threat is. Sure, I can wait until I pull aggro and that probably works fine on trashmobs but I noone wants to pull aggro on bosses.

Bossmods and stuff aren't exactly needed for me. Those advocating against them should however realize they helped in developing more interesting raid mechanics in wow, if it weren't for bossmods people would probably still be killing dragons with only 2 abilities right now.

Sorry, don't agree.

Mouse-click based healing completely changes the dynamics of healing. It's such a tired old method of: click target, press key for heal, click another target, press key for heal. Mouse based healing should be a standard feature but as such it wasn't, and we will have to rely on a mod for it.

I also find the following style mods to highly increase my meta game as they are so rarely provided by the developers themselves:
- Bag organizers
- Gear checker with a link to say TORHEAD in game to save me alt tabbing
- Automatic gear swap to save me pressing every single icon
- Auction house mod to save me the hassle of what is always a cumbersome system in new MMOs
- UI mods to ensure I have things like more bars, different colours available and more information flowing (like hey an actual combat log?)
- Notes and waypoints mod for making marks on my map. If I find a rare mob, i'd like to be able to mark it and not have to alt tab and go hunting the internet

These are just some of the mods i'd like to see.

I could care less about things like threatmeters or damage meters, though I do like them because i'm that sort of geek where I find numbers and info to monitor fun.

I am one of those players that would spend hours in front of a target dummies crunching numbers, spent way too much on respects because one points was out of place. I want to be able to squeeze everything out of my toon and expect others to strive for perfection as well. But to do that we need meters. For those of you that say to just play the game and enjoy it. I am, very much so but still would like the meters for end game perfection. Also those of you out there have to remember there dps and overall damage, they go hand in hand. Anyone can pop off a few good hits then die and say but I have good dps stats. Can u sustain it?

Meters? Yes

Ui changing? Yes

Healing helper? Be nice but can live without.

Boss mods? Hell no

Nope, no, nah and never. No addons

Just love the "Oh no, i need an addon to tell me wich build is the ultimate one. what should i do? Im lost! Oh god oh god..." Are people really lemmings these days? How about the old fashion way: Try and see what works best?

Only thing i could see would be a UI addon then, but then again that is something BW could implement into the game by themselfs, and i think they should. Lets demand that instead of bringing in addons!

Please explain to me how any of your reasons for being against add-ons somehow impairs your playing of the game?

99% of posts I read for people being against mods are completely biased emotional opinions.

The reasons I read that are for the idea of mods are very concrete because the ideas posed are capturing development items that should have but haven't been provided.

I honestly think people read the word "game mod" and start to flip out like it's some kind of arch evil. They have this illusion that in WoW there were mods to basically play the game for you - of which heroic cataclysm raids will definitely show you otherwise.
