Bottom line here:

Some players have more *time* to grind for credits, and perhaps less cash.

Some players have less *time* to grind for credits, but more *cash* (perhaps from working regularly).

The Cartel Market allows players with more cash to purchase things, which they then trade to players with more time.

So, players with time can trade it ( ground credits ) for cartel items.

Players with cash can trade it ( sell cartel items ) for credits ( time ).

Nearly everyone wins.

The losers are some dedicated crafters who want to rule the market for high end items ( ship parts / 41 crystals for instance ). And perhaps some farmers of rare orange drops. Grand Inquis robes are no longer quite as in demand, with the cartel market set, as an example.

In any case, it doesn't matter if EA is adding P2W to other games. The implementation of the Cartel Market in SWTOR has been quite good.

EA wins for sure by getting $ every time a level 10, +41 crystal gets created! Makes sense they'd ensure the CM stuff they want to sell is in demand, right?

There could not ever have been any dedicated crafters "ruling" the market. The design of the crafting system just doesn't let that happen.

What has happened is that crafters who used to be able to make and sell +41 crystals no longer can. But more than that, they can't sell -any- crystals because that +41 is usable at level 10. It's taken away an entire swath of the Artificer's market.

No the losers are EVERYONE. This system DUMBS DOWN gaming. Those that don't have the skill just "pay their way" to equivalency to those that actually know how to play the game. Everyone loses. If you don't have the time or the skill find another hobby.

Not my fault you "attempted" to make a point by misrepresenting what DT said.

Disingenuous much?

Yes. Find another hobby. Your use of the 'forum mini game' is dumbing down the forum.

Indeed you will.

Seriously, You were wrong. Get over it. DT schooled you. Get over it. Your attempt to recharacterize what he wrote was obvious. Learn to debate propperly.

I disagree. Overall, the cartel market has been good for the game and good for the player base. Individuals who are subscribers are not required to make use of it. Heck, even most free players are not required to use it if they choose to be patient and just accumulate credits and buy unlocks off the GTN. Individuals who like the cartel market have a whole new aspect of the game to explore and use.

Personally, I very much enjoy the proliferation of adaptive gear that the market has injected into the game. And the ability to buy legacy unlocks off the GTN has been great IMO. It has also simplifed my own personal mini-game of playing the GTN for wealth accumualtion in game since cartel items make for good economy dynamics. And by simplified, I do not mean dumbed down either.

There is always somebody that does not like something. And let's be real... you've been negative since 1.4 patch affected your game performance (even though for many many others it caused no issues). You have been biased ever since and have had literally nothing positive to say about the game.

I do however wish you well and hope you find MMO bliss somewhere, becasue I do know you like the genere, just not the evolution of the genre.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.
