So yes it can harm other players in a situation like this and there are too many that are doing this without the AC changes.
They only do it because you LET them. Tell them to piss off, level up, and learn their class. Kick them out of group finder groups.

That's no different than it is NOW though. Players ALREADY are asking you to run them through stuff because they're too stupid or too lazy to do it themselves. Letting people switch AC's wouldn't create this behavior because it already exists. It probably wouldn't increase it either - these people, if they're coddled, will continue to be leeches on any group they can get into regardless whether or not they can switch their AC from one that contains tank to one that contains healer.

But can't that happen now when, for example, the DPS Guardian or DPS Vanguard switch to Tank?

That's not NEW harm coming from the proposed change.

So, because laziness and leeching already exists, it's okay to promote it even further? lol no

Actually you jumped to the conclusion I let them. Wrong assumption on your part. I don't . I tell them to go learn their class but you assumed I would do that is wrong on your part as you had no idea what I do.

With the way they are asking and begging for someone to do this in general chat has me worried about end game and you have no idea until you get into the flashpoints how well they know their class. Yes we can kicked them but considering the amount repairs are now why would we really want to give them tools to change their AC to cause more trouble in groups like this.

Why would it be promoting it? These idiots are leeching - queueing as tanks "because the game lets them" so they can get faster queues, results inside the flash point be damned. They're not going to spend money to switch that to healing when they can do it for a quick talent respec.

Repair costs have been adjusted. The rest I addressed in a recent post.

See, that's the thing, if I'm running with a Sith Warrior who's going DPS and the tank DCs, and the SW goes Tank, I can rest easy knowing that the guy has 'probably' run as a tank as he's been leveling.

But if I'm running with a Sith Assassin and he goes 'lol hold on, I'll go heals', clicks a button and starts speccing heals, I'm going to get very nervous. What does a Sith Assassin know about healing? He doesn't! How could he? Healing isn't an option for him.

Granted, he could know about basic healing from having some other healing class, but knowing how to heal on one class is not the same as knowing how to heal with another class.

What they're doing 'now' isn't the point. The point is, allowing those types of players to swap to a tank/healer/dps Class that they DON'T KNOW isn't going to be a good thing. Period. If this was a purely single-player game, I'd say 'go for it', but it's not. And their inability to perform a role because of inexperience is a direct impact on MY game play.

We don't even need to speculate. Go to the test server and see what it's like to play with people who leveled from 10-55 in 3 seconds with the push of a button and did so with a class/AC they've never played before.

Why is this debate solely focused on AC change at 50? If you choose your AC at around 12, you pretty much know you've made the wrong choice by 20. At this point some players will re-roll as I have done on a couple of occasions, other will continue regardless. I see no harm in making an AC change available on the CM with an upper level restriction for those players who would prefer not to repeat the content they have just completed. And while I don't buy the disingenuous protestations of those who oppose AC change entirely, I'm sure that even they would agree that this restriction leaves the player plenty of time to "learn his class".
