New to the game. Purchased 2 month subscription. This is the first Flashpoint I've tried. I was excited to complete it but it crashes to the desktop at the very end (as described by many others in this thread). My friend and I both had the same problem at the exact same time. We both logged back in and ran back to the same point, and boom, it happened again. Right before the lightspeed jump. Very frustrating to have spent the time to get through this and then not be able to complete the **** quest.

And, this problem is 'several' months old and there is no fix in place. Unbelievable.

As a new player I'm supposed to magically know which cutscenes are going to crash my game? Is there a comprehensive list that Bioware can give me so I don't waste my time (and others)? Hopefully I minimize my game at just the right time to get through the quest. Hopefully someone will inform me that I need to do it in other Flashpoints so I don't have this same problem again.

Seriously... minimize your game through the cutscene? Seriously? That's the solution? Give me a break.

The only way I have been able to complete Esseles runs for a long time is if the group waits for me to return from the inevitable crash, even when alt-tabbing

Seems party members using AMD cards don't crash, but NVidia users (including me) do.

Would it be possible for someone who is encountering the bug to post up the reliability monitor report of their crash?
  • Open your Start menu and type "view reliability history" into the search box.
  • Select the most recent swtor.exe failure, denoted by the red circle with the white X in it.
  • Double-click the related Critical Event under Source.
  • Please post the full information of the reliability history within code tags or spoiler tags

Also, just as a shot in the dark, if you're encountering this could you try minimising your settings as much as possible, and see if the crash occurs.
Thanks again.

Since beta, I have NEVER made it through an Esseles or Black Talon run without this happening.

SICK TO THE BACK TEETH OF IT.
The crystal is the heart of the blade. The heart is the crystal of the Jedi. The Jedi is the crystal of the force. The force is the blade of the heart. All are intertwined.

I can confirm both Esseles and Talon crash when using an AMD card as well. At least Talon gives you the 'completed' notification if you log right back in. Never been able to complete Esseles. Shame, because it's a really nice mission.

My friend encountered this problem when 3 of us were running the Esseles last night, so it's a persistent problem. Only the one friend repeatedly crashed, the other two of us could view the hyperspace jump at the end without issue.

The friend who was crashing has an AMD card, but I see it happens with Nvidia cards too... I don't know the specifics of his system but he has the most powerful computer of the 3 of us in terms of GPU, CPU, and RAM, which makes me think its not strictly performance related.

We were running the FP with 3 players, no companions.
He tried minimizing his graphic settings (low on all settings, all optional effects off) with no effect.
Tried in both Full Screen and Full Screen (Windowed) mode. No effect.
Alt+Tabbing out for the hyperspace camera shot did work and he was able to alt+tab back in after the jump.

Also of note, the friend that crashed experiences a lot of particle and texture glitches when he plays. For example, the colored-coded phase gates in the game usually have a glitchy texture for him, and other particle effects sometimes display weird artifacts on his screen.

I know this sounds crazy, but how about a fix? It has only been a year since this defect was reported.

I just did Esseles for the first time in 2 months, and I'm shocked to this that this bug is STILL THERE after a year.
What are you doing Bioware? How can you not fix a bug that has been reported and documented for A YEAR? This is beyond belief.

And this is the sort of attitude that allows it to continue. Fixing game crashing bugs is more important than adding retextured armor models to the Cartel Store, believe it or not.

Jesus... glad that the cartel market is working though. Get this issue, every time on every character. Maybe if you were a little more concerned about polishing your game than lining your pockets with the cartel market you wouldn't be shedding subscribers a a record pace.
