I gather you are not into steampunk, either. It's a matter of aesthetic style, not where tech is now on Earth.

Also, please peruse the scale of science fiction hardness , and consider where Star Wars is: http://www.mikebrotherton.com/2010/1...ience-fiction/
Hint: not hard.
Quicker
Easier
More seductive

You started a thread whining about a long-beloved retro style of a very popular franchise. Think about that before you do more projection and tell other people they're whining, genius.

Once again I am astounded by your brilliance. I was asking you to call the waaambulance for me as I was the one doing the whining. But please, by all means call one for both of us if you are whining too lol.

And as far as the big computers, they look like they are from the 70s............................................... ...........

That's the point im trying to make. Make star wars MODERN. Make star wars believable.
I think not. You would be messing with well established lore which is far greater than the films of the 70's. It would not only upset the fans but it devalue what we love about Star Wars and to me it should stay the way it is. No need to modernize what isn't outdated.

Being passive-aggressive and sarcastic is only making you less persuasive and makes you seem more childish.

I think you're more likely to see primitive technology in Star Wars stuff set 20,000 BBY or something like that.

Fair enough, I respect your opinion.

Although it seems to me that all lore has its basis in the original films and the original films strove to push the imagination of its audience with futuristic technology. I would say the 1970s version of futuristic technology is outdated.

No need to change the lore though. Don't get rid of holocommunicators. Just make them appropriate for 2013.

My sarcasm is directed at those who miss the point of the thread completely. I give honest sincere replies to others.
