So did I... Appearantly some people just have to beat that dead horse.. I have no clue what the issue is here.. I thought it was a case closed as well..

Or, you could look at it the other way as well and see it as a 30% bonus to those of us who like to do both. Why is that such a bad thing? Why is it ok in the eyes of the PvE-only players to punish those of us that actually like PvE *and* PvP? How/why is it "not fair" to help reward players that do both, even a tiny amount like this? Do PvE players not get to do 96% of everything else?

I do understand that griefers and intentional-flaggers *can* be a problem but they are nowhere near as big an issue as people seem to think it is. I did this event on 8 toons every day and was only cheese-flagged twice and the very odd time there was a problem in mid I simply switched to one of the other 9 instances or just went and did something else for a while.

Why does everyone get so upset when things aren't just handed to them? They finally put in a tiny little bit of PvP into an event, peanuts really, and the PvE-only crowd goes absolutely crazy like it's the end of the world or something.

Every time something doesn't go someones' way once in a while they immediately come here and stir up a big stink like it happens 24/7 when it really doesn't. Just take a breath and calm down, your life isn't ruined.

If they do not choose to be engaged by other players they may avoid this area and still eventually be able to purchase the event items from the vendors.
What a pointless set of debate points. You are shadow-debating against anything that has a possible counter-point, when the entire problem has the solution that the 2 [PVP] missions can be made to have one additional area to complete the mission outside the force-flagging zone. Nothing would change about the event other than the 2 PvP missions would become completable without ever having to flag for PvP. PvP players would notice no change whatsoever in the event as they work their way through the event's daily missions.
Boring conversation anyway.

Stop it with the drama. The only reason proponents of this thread are required to post so many times is that a few individuals keep posting baseless disagreement and insults. The situation is extremely non-complex and really doesn't merit any debate:
_
  • (1) there are many players who wanted to only PvE in the Gree Event, and completely avoid PvP
    _
  • (2) upon finishing the PvE missions, most of us realized that only by flagging against our will could we get the maximum quests done each day of the event (and get the best chance of getting the awesome reward items soon)

It is as simple as this. The solution is to not require PvP-flagging to complete any of the missions in the event, so that PvE players are not drawn to flag against their will for the Event. How you get the idea of PvP players being punished is FAR beyond my imagination.

The original poster made a decision to go ahead on the [PVP] missions in the Gree Event to get a larger quantity of Trophies each day. His experience once he did so is exactly the reason I chose to avoid those missions. THE CONTRAST BETWEEN MY SATISFACTION WITH THE EVENT AND THE ORIGINAL POSTER'S SATISFACTION WITH THE EVENT IS UNSHAKABLE PROOF THAT THE GREE EVENT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. If any players in the game find PvP highly unpleasant and want to avoid it, it is not anyone's place to speculate why, or to insult them with indifference or impertinence when they explain the problem. That anyone has posted strong objections in this thread is, frankly, absurd. And to pretend that posting objections can make it a "case closed" is an enormous lack of consideration of others.

Given that the solution suggested here does not affect PvP players in the Gree Event in any way whatsoever (other than not having as much cannon fodder for sadistic endeavour), I expect that the posting of dissent would be understood to be pointless. And given that the Gree Event will recur probably later this year, I think it's important to get this problem fixed soon.
Boring conversation anyway.

Ok.. Nice post.. Yes I read it all..

How would your views change when considering the server type?? PVE Vs. PVP servers??

I like the overall idea of just letting the player flag themselves and that is it.. It would actually work on both server types.. But at they point, you wouldn't need either server.. They would both in a sense be identical.. Again, I don't view this as a bad thing.. Maybe something that MMO's should have done in the first place.. Just put the entire flagging for PVP into the players hands..

I hit Champion with Gree this week. I did not do the PvP missions at all and only did the rest on two, some days three, characters... much like a lot of other people. People who -did- do the PvP missions are not ahead of me reputation-wise, so I can't see how we were "forced" to do PvP. I agree we shouldn't have to participate in PvP missions in order to get what we want from events but we didn't with the Gree event.
What you get from a referral link: a box of junk and one single server transfer token.

What the other person gets: 500 cartel coins, 100 more each month you stay subscribed, a speeder bike and a droid vanity pet.

Why did you bother to log more than one character to do the event, when the reward tokens that are used to buy the reward weapons are not tradeable? _ Why not just earn all your reward tokens on one character, so that your stack of reward tokens is not split?

Because the reputation earned by cashing in the reward tokens is applied to your legacy not the individual character.

the outlaw's den, tatooine is a pvp free for all player area and it is no problem. the ghee pvp ffap area shouldn't be either. if you don't like pvp, don't go into the area. as far as pvp imbalance goes, if you are pvper and want to be competitive, get the valors and get the pvp gear.
