I bought the Collectors Edition for the following reasons in order of importance:
Journal of Gnost Dural. I'm a sucker for physical things like this written like the are in-universe.
The statue
Music CD
In-game items
Regular updates

I'm not arrogant or stupid enough to think that everyone bought it for precisely the same reasons as I, however logically I think someone claiming a majority bought a package of various items including two largish physical items solely for one digital item needs to provide some significant evidence for such a claim.
Yeah...becuase the people who play the game and make their concerns known should be counted as nothing.

Just lol @ garbage like this.

See, this is the kind of attitude that isn't helping anybody. I agree that, given the context of SWTOR having done poorly initially and being forced to swtich to a F2P model, I think it's probably a bit much to hold them accountable to something as superfluous as the CE vendor, when so many people have already lost their jobs over the core experience not being received well enough.

That doesn't mean that the opinion is suddenly "wrong", though. It may seem unreasonable in light of circumstances, but that's no reason to speak to them with that kind of hostility.

Garbage like inferring someone said something that they did not? I never said people who were concerned about the lack of regular updates counted for nothing, I said you needed to provide evidence for your assertion that they are the majority. You have failed to do so.

Your opinion, of course, except for the fact that the cantina selections were only 6 of 17 tracks - hardly "most". Personally, I liked them in addition to the free tracks BW made available on the site before launch. Altogether I have three CDs of atmospheric SW music that has been my driving music for much of the past year.

It was mentioned in discussions about what was included in the CE, but I didn't feel it was overly emphasized. Perhaps it was just me, because as I mentioned before, I felt it stupid to base a purchase decision of $90 (minus the $60 for the cost of the game) on something that I might end up having no use for anyway. Clearly you and some others felt otherwise, in which case, I have a bridge I would like to sell you.

It's not just you. I share your recollections on this.

I'll tell you who and where it was hyped out the wazoo though.... by some CE owners in the Beta forums. And it was one of the reasons many forum people took to beating CE owners like they were redheaded stepchildren too (a habit which even though I am a CE owner I can understand some peoples difficulty even today to give up the habit....especially with some of the CE owners posting nonsense in this thread once again).

Ok, let me just dust off the ole time machine and...

Not sure how actually playing the game and noticing an obvious trend isn't good enough to you your honor. How does the jury find me in your court?

How do you observe someone's reason for purchasing a CE in-game?

  • Security Key
  • CE Vendor
  • Statue
  • Small Handfull of Items

And like I've said, I've seen the CE being the primarily mentioned. That is where the obviously negativity dealing with CE's originates from.

This is a solution I totally support. Maybe with a lower price than the original CE, because a digital upgrade will not include physical things like the Malgus statue, the lore book, metal box, etc.
