April seems a little to early for the expansion.

We might get the 2.0 patch but that technically isn't the expansion. Have the 2.0 patch for a month or so and then see the expansion come around May.

I think it'll be the 2.0 patch, laying the ground for the Xpac. Let's say they give it 4 or so weeks to bed in and bug fix and we are probably looking at May for the Xpac release timeframe.

How many times is it going to have to be said that these are the same thing?

I can see it happening. It looks like we are getting 2.0 after 1.7 and they have a 6 week window so 2nd April Might make sence of course I would expect a change to login to happen a few days before or after the patch to stop 100's of people not releasing and then moaning they cant play the expansion.

Honstly I think Expansion and 2.0 will have to hit together otherwise they are revamping a lot of parts of the game and adding in new gear vendors which no one can use.

Log in change has nothing to do with expansion. It has already been put into effect. The 2nd is just when we will no longer be able to log in either way.

On the Internet, you can be anything you want. It is strange so many people choose to be stupid.

True but many MMO have a pre-patch then expansion.

You get this pre-patch a few weeks to a month before the actual expansion comes out.

It's kinda like a "Heres whats coming but not everything just to get you used to the large changes that are being made".

You get to toy around with those changes for a few weeks then you get the full expansion. That doesn't mean BW will do that but it's been done a lot in other MMO's that way.

Because otherwise people would be playing two different versions of the game. 2.0 includes Makeb and 55 and the new ops/fps, and the class changes. But you only gain access to the new content if you purchase the expansion. You think they're going to separate their servers into two different versions? Pre-2.0 and post-2.0?

I look at it this way.

2.0 is all the game mechanics that need to change. The game rules that gamers need to work by and play with but not a lot of content. You will get talent trees and changes but limited content.

The expansion itself will be the content and the separation where people who buy the expansion get to go and those that do not get halted. It will have the cut scenes, the quests, the new gear and the planet with mats and whatever else content needs to come along.

Every player from F2P to subscriber will get 2.0 but only the expansion buyers will get access to the expansion content and I'd be shocked if we don't get 2.0 before we get makeb and the full expansion.

Then again, maybe were saying the same thing but in 2 different ways.
