...and would be utterly lame.
They are different classes.

Next should be, any 50 should change classes entirely. From agent to jedi. From jedi to inquistor.

Can't you learn to live with your choice already or reroll?
I made the same mistake with IA sniper. I rerolled op and got it to 50.
Big whoop.
It's not like it takes ages to lvl in this game anyway.
-Loathe (Imperial Sniper, Operative and Scoundrel)
-dirtdog (Vanguard).
-Paranoir (Dreadnaught)

So would name change and server transfers. Leaving money on the table is pretty much their entire business plan for this game.

being able to change an AC is a good idea IMO, please stop with the 'I re-rolled, its no big deal, you should too' crap, why would you assume anyone cares?

The AC is just that an advanced class, its not a different class, a lot is common between them. Being able to change at some cost without having to endure 50 levels of the same story and the same planets and the quests is fine by me.

Yeah, the Sage and the Shadow have so much common between them I can easily tank operations with my healer sage and heal him with a tank spec Shadow.

Oh, wait. >__>

I rerolled, and it's no big deal. Now the character I rerolled was only lvl ~18, but still. I was warned over and over before I picked an AC that it would be a permanent decision, so I knew when I picked wrong what the cost would be if I were to reroll.

And if the two advanced classes have so much in common, then why bother changing them? They're the same anyway, right?
The reason why you want to change however, is because they are NOT that similar. The only thing they truely share is their class story, but if you can't handle doing that twice, maybe you should consider adding some variation to the conversation decisions you make.
-The abilities the two advanced classes share synergize completely different with the rest of the class.
-The "shared" skilltree is no longer shared, look it up, they're radically different on the most important skills.
  • Juggernaut/Guardian vs Marauder/Sentinel? One is capable of tanking and wields one lightsaber, the other can stealth, is pure dps and wields two lightsabers.
  • PT/Vanguard vs Mercenary/Commando? One is short to medium range, the other is long range. One is capable of tanking, the other capable of healing.
  • Sorc/Sage vs Assassin/Shadow? One is long range, the other short range. One is capable of healing, the other capable of tanking. One can't stealth, the other can. One wields a single normal lightsaber, the other uses a dualbladed lightsaber.
  • Operative/Scoundrel vs Sniper/Gunslinger? One is short range, the other long range. One is capable of healing, the other isn't. One is capable of stealth, the other isn't.
Of all those, the Juggernaut/Guardian and the Marauder/Sentinel share most similarities, both being primarily short ranged. Still, their abilities and rotations play out rather differently. So no, the advanced classes are not exactly the same. Not even nearly the same.

I would like at least the ability to change my race. I don't think AC change would be good for the game, but I wouldn't be against it.

No.

Never ever implement this. It would be a complete catastrophe.

The AC is very very far away from each other. They are not even close.

Sorcerer swap to Assassin = have no main hand weapon.
Assassin swap to Sorcerer = have no main hand weapon and have accuracy on his gear which is worthless.

Maurauder swap to Juggernaut = Crappy armour.
Juggernaut swap to Maurauder = No armour at all. Zipp. Zero.

You cannot implement this. It's impossible.
Societies in decline tend not to innovate. I just wish we had cellphones to report quests. Guess light speed tech and cell phone tech are mutually exclusive.
I know this image is supposed to be an insult, but it's not.
Two similar games and yet SW:ToR is so much better.
