Seriously with all the guides out there, all it takes isone dedicated game session and alt-tabbing out to youtube. I waited 'til 50 and grabbed all of the ones that affect my performance (aim, cunning, presence and endurance since I play merc).

You might also pick up the red crystal from corellia and wait for someone on your fleet to offer a +10 datacron pull. Most people will take 100k or so in tips which is totally worth it, unless you want to challenge yourself with the MGGS puzzle.

That's about it, and I'm not really suffering any ill effects. I'm sorry, but some of those things are entirely too time consuming and infuriating to get to (imo).

What can I say, I'd rather be hunting scum or killing the Empire's enemies than playing armored parkour around the rooftops of Tatooine. Referring to the Cunning one here - whoever put that there is just evil
And that was a pretty simple one I thought.
Well, that is if you walk aross the ropes holding up those tents, instead of trying to jump from those tents onto the next ledge.

Most people I hear complaining, complain about:
-Nar Shaddaa, several of them
-Coruscant, several of them
-Tatooine Balloontrip (I agree people have a right to complain if the balloon disappears from under their feet though, but I gladly never had that happen)
-Fleet (it takes some time and it does sometimes bug, meaning several people get frustrated at once)

Taris has some jumps, but I found only one of the jumps on the race tracks a bit unforgiving. For the "tricky" one in the powerplant that requires two people: jump from the beam onto the other platform first instead of straight to the one with the datacron, or you risk bumping your head against an overhanging piece of ceiling.

Most others are really just a matter of walking right up to it, or in the worst case, drop down to a ledge (like spaceport Dromund Kaas or two on Tatooine), which isn't exactly difficult either.

In a word, is it worth it? Any advice?

is it worth it? Is this a serious question?

It's an activity that boosts your stats that it doesn't involve killing 200 dozens mobs. It's different at least. .

I still hope they will revisit the jump physics in the game, it is truely crap.

Here, here! I'll second that!

I have enjoyed hunting down the datacrons at times, but some of the stuff is just crazy stupid in terms of the difficulty of manipulating the game interface to jump from place to place. I like a good puzzle, not trying to overcome a combination of what seems to be input lag and weird 'ricochet' physics to find just the right timing at just the right angle. (And redo 10 mins worth of travel if I miss.)

There are good and enjoyable aspects of 'cron hunting, but there are sure some real PITA parts too!

Actually it would be a boost to get Datacrons early due to the Bolster system. Some of the datacrons would be hard to get to such as Corellia- others like Ilum are fairly open and accessible. Itlum is particularly nice to visit early because it yields a few Shards in locations that are more accessible than the alternate planets (can't equip multiple Matrix cubes though ) As the character levels the gains from Datacrons diminish until endgame.

Turn off sprint when box-jumping and pipe-running.

This made a massive difference for me.

Remove Datacrons from Legacy and give them a meaningful % boost that scales with level.

The Matrix Shard relics need a new higher tier desperately. I wouldn't even worry about them. You can get Rakata from daily comms and Dread Guard are super cheap in 2.0 on PTS. Don't bother with stats that don't benefit you. Like if you're a Sentinel, then you get Strength, Endurance, and Presence (which helps your companion). You could also grab willpower for a small boost to force based abilities.

Don't forget you also get XP from Datacrons which help while leveling so getting ones that don't directly benefit you also helps.

My advice is to always to get them as you go cuz you trip over them anyway.
