so you are saying you tried one time at that was at the time there prolly wasn't too man due to them flying off the shelves.. as instead trying like a month later whent he big rush to buy them was over? all you did was try to use a smoking and mirrow effect to discredit the OP. he is right there are still CE boxes out there to be bought... I bought mine awhile ago. and just the other day I saw one at my local gamestop.. sitting on the back shelve waiting to be bought.

But CE owners need to accept that the game changed and their vendor is no better than any other now.
This, precisely this. Folks, the game tanked in 2012, and is only now sort of getting back on its feet due to the cash shop.

Even then, it's very clear the staffing and plans for SWTOR are not what they were initially intended to be. We can hope for the best, but it's highly unlikely SWTOR will be supported by EA as the blockbuster MMO it was once expected to be, when most of you bought your Collector's Edition.

If anything should confirm this for you, it's that these same Collector's Edition boxes were being sold for as little as $15 at retail shops late last summer and fall.

I don't doubt EA will update the vendor occasionally, but you really should change your expectations on the matter.

I actually looked into buying CE, but after talking with a few friends that had CE (All no longer playing) it wasn't worth the extra cash.

If BW gave CE some love like they promised then it might be a worth while investment. Right now Cartel Market is where anything/everything CE was supposed to get is going instead.

Maybe after items are removed from Cartel Market they are available via CE only vendor? Might be worth getting CE and maybe upgrading even.

Who is blaming CE owners?I know I don't care what version you have.I haven't heard people complain about them.Doesn't mean it isn't happening.I am just surprise. There will always be people that complain about one thing or another.Ignore is your friend.

I wanted to post something similar but then I saw someone already mentioned this idea. Just allow people who want access to the CE vendor for 10 dollars or something, like you already allowed us to buy the digital upgrade pack.

The main reason I didn't buy the CE edition (aside from the fact that 149.9$ is a lot of money for me that I would rather spend it on basic necessities like food) was all that superfluous junk that came with the box that I didn't want. I definitely don't want to pay for a SW history booklet (when the transcripts can be read on Wookipedia) or a plastic Malgus statue.

But yeah I think allowing people access to the CE vendor for Cartel Coins would be a sound idea. Then people like me, who didn't want to spend money on the physical extras, would be able to generate revenue for Bioware by paying a moderate amount of money to gain access to the virtual benefits of the CE edition.

But when I checked somewhere in November, they were about $35 even there, for the NEW ones. Some retail stores had them on sale for similar prices. Now, obviously, demand has gone UP again. Which is a good sign for Bioware I guess.
The only problem with Amazon is this:

"We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order. "

Apparently they are not shipping everywhere. And for the record I don't live in North Korea, I live in Hungary but they are not shipping the CE over here, which is weird because I can order pretty much anything else from Amazon at the standard international shipping fee (7.99$)

So for some people, even if they want to buy the CE, the retailers aren't shipping them to their countries, so for them the only way to buy the CE would be to purchase it digitally. Which would be fine with me, since I don't like Darth Malgus anyway.

I just like to put the word out there that some countries didn't even have the option of buying the Collector's Edition before we get into self-righteous debates.

I haven't heard any whining about CE owners, but I've heard plenty from CE owners.

Personally, I would have loved the CE, the in game store not withstanding. The statue and the other extras would have been great collectibles. Sadly, I can't find it anywhere so... what I have must suffice.

I bought a CE, and it was much akin to throwing that money in the toilet and taking a dump on it. about the same value.

I have a CE and quite frankly, if I bought it because of the in-game vendor, that would make me a complete moron. You see, I bought the CE because of the nice stuff I could see was included in the box:

Security Key (the most practical in my view)
Music CD (probably one of my biggest reasons for getting it - exclusive music)
Darth Malgus statue (would of preferred Satele, but it still makes a nice bookend with my Skyriim dragon)
Journal of Master Gnost-Dural (cause an actual physical book I can hold in my hands and look at the pretty pictures is still pretty cool)
Disks in Metal Case (Well, it seems to be the standard in CE versions of games nowadays)
Longspur STAP and VIP bracelet (the only digital items I was interested in, even though they are also part of the digital upgrade pack). They are the most useful digital items for me.

You see, having exclusive access to the vendors, whether it be the Security Key, VIP, or the CE vendors was nice, but ultimately useless in decision to buy the CE. I like customizing my characters and having useful items for them to wear and use. Without any prior knowledge of what would be on these vendors or even if I would like the look of any of it, it would have been completely stupid of me to base such a purchase decision on something site unseen. So the fact that the vendors have not been updated is hardly of any consequence to me - again there is no guarantee that I would like anything that would ever be on these vendors or find any of it more useful than anything else in the game, so I ultimately based my purchased decision on what I knew I was getting and the value of that to me was more than enough to justify the cost.

So, to be honest, as a CE owner, I would rather they just leave the vendors as is and put more of the effort in creating art assets into quests and missions in the game (with a few saved for the CM to continue to help fund the game).

The ingame CE perks became moot the moment the game failed to sell. If 10% of 5 million subscribers had the CE, then development of CE perks would have continued. Same thing is in danger of happening to subscribers in general as our "perks" become less and less valuable as time goes on.

What should be done is that all the ingame perks associated with the CE should be granted to all subscribers and other advantages to subscribing need to be instituted.
