Quit "blaming" CE owners for actually owning a CE

I've not been back on the forums for long, but there is an incredible resentment towards CE-owners, and frankly, I'm not feeling it.

The Collector's Editions were expensive, yes. But they were in high supply for *MONTHS* after release, and there is literally only one reason in the entire world that you don't own one; you didn't want to spend the money. As someone who has been out of work for a while now, I can most certainly understand that.

However, everyone knew the Collector's Edition was going to include an exclusive store. We didn't know what would be available specifically, and on that point, I agree with people being frustrated. However, again, if you actually *wanted* the items available on the CE-store, you could easily have purchased the CE after launch. In fact, at one point they were absurdly cheap, and I saw was as low as $30 new.

So basically, all I'm hearing is a bunch of whining about "Those guys have something I don't, and I don't like it". If these CE's were in short supply, I would totally be on you guys' side, but again, they weren't. Every single one of you had ample time to find out what was included in the CE, and to purchase it, likely even at a discount from pre-order prices. You didn't. That's fine, but don't you dare claim you're entitled to the content I actually *did* pay for.

If you went shopping for a car tomorrow, are you going to buy something economical, or spring for luxury? Frankly, I don't care what you pick, but I can tell you for a fact that you aren't going to purchase a luxury car at an economical price. And again, it's all fair game. And hey, maybe you're really desperate for money, and want a luxury car but can't afford it. That does not give you the right to throw a brick through some other guy's luxury car, though, or break-in and steal his sound-system.

If you don't own a CE, then tough noogies. You had ample opportunities to purchase it, but you didn't. I did. You don't get to access the same content as me because you didn't pay to access that content. I did. I took a gamble that, despite a rough start, this game would get better. You didn't, so you'll forgive me if I'm not terribly sympathetic to the amount of whining

Personally, I wish I hadn't purchased the CE. Like that fancy luxury car, it sounds a lot more fun that it has actually been, and it was certainly pricey. But I did pay for it. If I waste my money of lotto-tickets, while you put yours in a bank, don't come crying to me when I actually win something and you want the same reward.

I didnt buy the CE. To much money while unemployed. I dont care who bought it. You did great for you. I am tired of hearing about the vendor not being updated. I am tired of hearing how CE owners were promised the vendor would get updated. Guess what that was BEFORE F2P.

F2P changed every thing. CE owners have to accept the fact that the game changed. Its not the game you bought that CE for now. You say those that whine about not getting into the CE vendor need to accept you can they cant. Ok by me. But CE owners need to accept that the game changed and their vendor is no better than any other now.

1: i dont understand what youre whining about here. I dont see much resentment towards CE owners in general, its mostly the entitled ones that keep demanding more and more exclusive stuff that people get miffed by...
2: no, its not always a question of "want" when it comes to who could buy the CE. I have an income of roughly 780$ each month, and with bills payed, that leaves very little to spend on games. Buying the CE wasnt a questing of if i "wanted" to spend that money, it was a question of me not having that much money to spend.
3: you kinda come off as a self entitled rich fool in this little rant of yours... might want to invest in some humility.
4: your analogy with cars would be more correct if you said we shouldnt be angry that luxury car owners are demanding that they get their own lanes on the highway so they dont have to be stuck behind some economy car. Nobody is stealing anything from CE owners, and nobody is destroying their property. People are just tired of a small clique of players demanding more free stuff from bioware just because they could afford to pay more for their game (as if they didnt get alot of stuff already)

I myself own the CE but i don't expect them to upgrade the vendor with armor since F2P yes i would like them to add something to the vendor in the future i think something on the lines of a new lightsaber hilt design exclusive to the CE would be cool but i don't expect them to actually do it

For the record, I tried to get one after work the Tuesday of general release launch, and they were sold out. So not everyone was able to get one.

If the resentment is coming because of CE-owners are asking for more exclusive content, then just disregard everything I posted. However, at least in this past few days I've been on the forums, it feels like there has just been a lot of out-right hostility towards CE-owners, and the primary thing seems to be the fact that the Imperial Trooper armor is exclusive to the CE-store.

I did notice that BioWare said they were planning to update the CE-shop, which I have to admit is extremely shocking. I mean, I'm certainly not *opposed* to the idea or anything, but aside from altering the Republic vendor to offer something that is actually unique, I honestly wouldn't be upset if they just left it alone. Again, I'm not crazy about the Imperial Trooper gear, but it's unique, and that's all that really matters.

Also, sorry if the tone came off overly harsh, I just wanted to make sure I got the point across. I don't personally feel like the CE was worth the price of admission, but it's unacceptable for people to berate others because they *did* opt for the CE, just as I think it' would be equally unacceptable for a CE-owner to feel entitled to a better gameplay experience than standard users (which I haven't personally encountered, but I'll take your word on it).

I have a solution that BW is probably considering...

Put some worthwhile stuff in the CE store, and also allow people to upgrade their accounts to CE status.

I imagine people are blaming them because, maybe the said people would have bought CE if items they are adding in the future were available when the CE was up for purchase. It is pretty lame for them to add perks to being a CE a year down the line when it is too late for people to get it. That's just my 2 cents. I don't care one way or the other if CE people get something, or not. Just stating a possible reason for people to be upset over it.

Plenty of CE editions still for sale if you bother to look around. The sense of entitlement of some people is amazing.

There's plenty of unopened new CE boxes out there on eBay and Amazon. Last I checked they were going for about $60 including shipping.
