Oh cmon. Who would pre-order a game because of that?

Okay its nice thing to have a cool name. But its just that a nice thing. Not so big of a deal. Not even close as important as having a cool gear imo. Nobody is going to judge you as a player, because of your name.

Besides names like Titan lacks creativity imo, but it might be just me.

If your ego is too attached to a name, it's time to go outside and play in the yard. Grow up.

Masta-Blasta - Vanguard

Sindorin - Assassin

Depends on the name, the name is the first thing we see and in some cases can be the first impression we make to someone. I try not paying attention to players who use names such as XXLukeXX, XXDarthVaderXX, or imapwnu.

The names in that link are neither iconic or epic, they are just a bunch of overused and very unimaginative names that you should have expected to lose when moving servers. It does suck to lose a name you have grown accustomed to using, but coming up with something new and original isn't really that difficult.
As you put it in your first sentance... these names were important to me. And don't tell me you wouldn't want to have a character named "Darth Doom" or "Captain Maverick" etc. Either way, I wanted those names. I got them, and I had them... and then they were taken away. Of course I'm angry. Lots of people are. You seem to think that insulting my choice of names would somehow be helpful to me. Well, it's not. Names like those are always reserved for the first to take them. I could name my characters Saltlicker and Stainbaker if I felt like it, but I just didn't. Somehow, to me... Darth Doom beats all the rabble of commoner filth the preceeds it.

So, instead of having a cool name you'd want to have cool looking gear. What if you could have both? I still have some cool names left, but they weren't my original choice. It's not that I couldn't find new names, but I'd still rather have the names I chose for my characters when I made them. The fact of the matter is, if you're called "Reaper", nobody's gonna ask how you spell it!

Stupid comments like this is what should get people banned from forums such as these. Ego has nothing to do with anything here, except your own pathological need to elevate yourself by sharing your useless oppinion with us.

Names are a big deal. When you put effort into creating a name, it does make you feel more committed to the game and character.

Look at the levels of those names. They are all placeholders. Even if Bioware did something fair like give the name rights to the highest /played then you would have still lost them. Just because you didn't sleep to quickly make a bunch of names doesn't give you rights. I lost the name Wedge in the merge and I could care less.
