You are talking about cartel market items, and specifically you were talking about color crystals. THOSE sell for a good price. If the GTN at the moment is flooded with that color crystal, leave it in your cargo bay and in a few days there will be a lot less so you can sell it a good enough price if not at a really good price...

By "Selling" we mean, go to the GTN, see the price the item you want to sell goes for and price it accordingly. Yes, if you post something that no one cares about it might not sell, but if you're selling a color crystal at a good price you will most likely sell it (let alone 50% off as you keep saying). No one's talking about spamming ganeral chat. There's no need for that.

Maybe so, still doesn't change the fact that 90% of the time your going to get trash in Cartel Packs.... The odds of getting the good stuff is extremely rare... I got that out of my system when they offered us the first cartel pack, learned my lesson quick and now I just wait and buy the rare items off the GTN from other people... I figure let them waste their money...

Man, I would sure like to know this enchanted server....the one in which you can actually buy augment kits, the one in which people just talk on the chat, the one into which people actually buy stuff on the GTN...

Honestly, no offense, but I just don't think you're any good at the GTN game. When the cartel market first hit, I only had a couple hundred thousand credits. I bought a few packs with my free coins and won a Nihilius mask (which was admittedly lucky). I sold it after the bind timer for 2.8 million credits. Since then, I've been playing the GTN by buying things I know will sell at low costs and then re-posting them at a higher cost. Since that time, I've basically bought anything I've wanted (Tythonian Lightsaber, 2 thrones, a hover chair, etc) and I still currently have over 5 Million credits.

Trust me... it's you. There's nothing wrong with the GTN. It's all about learning how to use it.

Really, give me a break, I buy, sell and talk all the time on that server. And while I do have a HUGE collection of speeders in my cargobays that I simply refuse to sell below 10k, most things I put on the GTN sell within the hour. Crafting materials, augments, augment slots, Cartelwear, armoring, mods and enhancements, a variety of crafted gear... It all sells. And yes, I undercut the competition all the time. Not much, just about 10%, which makes the difference too small to even bother for competitors to buy out my stock, but I sell it.
And yes, I've sold a Revan's mask for a million and a half. And 2 Nihilus masks for a similar price. And also 2 Meditation Chairs for just under 2 million a piece. I was actually one of the first on my server who had the ugly assault cannon from the Crime Lords pack unbound, and sold it for 1.2 million as well in a matter of minutes, right before all the others hit the market.

So yes, the GTN functions pretty normal on your server. You just have to be a little aware of what's going on. Some people list things well above their usual value, just to see whether someone else buys out. Undercutting them by 10% won't do much good if most gatherers undercut them by 70%. The stock in the normal price range might've sold out for a few hours, but most crafters are aware of those prices too, and will wait for the normal stock to get listed, or simply gather their mats themselves at an even lower cost.

And there simply is NO demand for Perfect Orange/Yellow Gems. Vendorize those. Though you might get lucky if you post them on the GTN below their vendor value (122cr a piece), and find me buying them out and vendorizing them for you
